Rock-a-Hoola abandoned waterpark, California.

2013.11-Rock-a-Hoola DSC_6965Justin and I are always on the lookout for new places to shoot. We’ve been eyeing this location for the past couple years every time we drive back and forth from Vegas. This past trip back from Vegas we had about a 40 minute time frame to pull off and find a location. There’s so many desolate places off the I-15 but this has to be the most unique.Continue reading…

ipad-screensaver-boho-cowskull

First day back in LA! I had a crazy (but awesome) last weekend in Vegas. Just a three week break in LA then back to Vegas for another run of shows with Shania Twain! I am so grateful to have such an amazing job and work with such awesome people! There’s times that I’m standing backstage about to walk on, and I think to myself how awesome that every night I get to do what I love for a living.

If you’ve been following me for a bit, I blog about all my passions: music, fashion, art, yoga and leading a vegan lifestyle. I love it when I can combine my favorite things…in this case fashion and art. I created this jeweled cow skull design with one of my favorite jewelry designers in mind…Ettika. I’m a huge bracelet fanatic and they have the mother load of awesome boho-inspired bracelets to choose from. And for just a short time they’re offering 50% off! Click on the link and use the promo code below:

Save 50% Off Select Items!

I’m going to be doing some serious shopping myself! On top of that I’ve teamed up with some awesome bloggers to give away $125 in an e-gift card of your choice so you’ve got some extra dough to spend on your Ettika jewelry. And don’t forget you can download the bohemian cow skull design I made above for all of your devices. If you’re interested in an actual print of my art, you can check out my shop here.

Moonlighting as a chalkboard artist

Life is Beautiful Festival, Las Vegas.

life-is-beautiful-festival1

Moonlighting as something in Vegas seems like it may be a pretty common career choice. Working full time as a musician, I don’t always have the time to work as a visual artist, but just last week on one of my days off here in Vegas, I got called to create all of the signage for the Alchemy Gardens at the Life is Beautiful Festival! For being the premier year of this festival, they brought is some pretty amazing acts including Beck, Kings of Leon, Pretty Lights, Alabama Shakes, and The Killers. An all weekend celebration of music, food, beverage and art, I was honored to be asked to paint over 60 chalkboard signs!Continue reading…

Hollywood Lights

All those big city nights in those high rolling hills.

2013.10_GypsyJunkies DSC_6257

A night out in Hollywood calls for bohemian glam. After our first visit to Crossroads, LA’s newest hip vegan restaurant (and now my personal favorite), Justin and I hit the streets of Melrose Avenue and Sunset Boulevard to catch some shots under the neon lights that line the shops. Dressing for the evening actually was inspired by this amazing ring from Ara Nicole Boutique. I’m obsessed with oversize rings right now and this is definitely a favorite.Continue reading…

Freebie Halloweenie!

October 27, 2013

ipad-screensaver-boho-pumpkins

So it’s been a second since I’ve done a freebie post! I’ve had this image of these bohemian pumpkins in my head for a while from an image on Pinterest and figured I would actually be doing these little designs on the pumpkins themselves. I’ve been so busy here in Vegas for the past 3 weeks that I don’t foresee any type of pumpkin carving or decorating in the near future so I figured I’d do my own pumpkin decoration illustration. Three glasses of wine with dinner after a show apparently gives my great inspiration to make an illustration and do a blog post! Woo-hoo!

If you’re on your phone or iPad, click on the link below for your handheld device and the image will pop up on your screen. Hold down the image and save it to your camera roll then add it to your home screen, icon screen, etc. If you’re on your computer it will go right into your download folder.

Where can you use this art? Well, I’ve started by offering links to download for all of your handheld devices to use for a home screen, wallpaper, etc. Maybe you want to print it out and use it for wrapping paper, scrapbooking, greeting cards, the sky is the limit. I only ask that if you use it online for something that you link it back to me:)

If there’s some sort of design you would love to see, let me know! I love getting new ideas, cheers!

LA Fashion Council Runway show at the Grove, Los Angeles

SAMSUNG CSC

I got just a slight glimpse of LA fashion week before heading to Vegas for the month. At my absolute favorite shopping area, the Grove in Los Angeles, the LA Fashion Council sponsored a collection of designers showcasing their spring 2014 designs. I had the privilege of sitting front row for the Katharine Kidd collection with my friend Carly of Lipgloss and Crayons.Continue reading…

Denim and fall cardigans

2013.10_Pumpkin_Light DSC_6445_R

Nothing screams fall like all over denim and a warm cardigan. I’ve been in Las Vegas for one week (home for me is LA) and it’s definitely feeling like fall around here. I’m on tour with Shania Twain and the first three shows of this run have been awesome! The nights are super cool in Vegas and the bartender at my local watering hole (i.e. the bar downstairs in the hotel…so yes pretty much like my living room) is offering pumpkin spice martinis. A few days before I left for Vegas, Justin and I were able to squeeze in a photo shoot at our favorite pumpkin patch in Sherman Oaks, CA.Continue reading…

Shop Boho Bunnie! New prints for sale!

October 18, 2013

skulls-boho-bunnie1

I’m so excited to introduce two new additions to my shop! I’ve recently been inspired to start creating more art. My music career has been keeping me busy (definitely not complaining!) but sometimes it’s hard to find the inspiration and motivation to sit down and decide to do a series of paintings. If you’ve checked out my shop before, you know that my favorite mediums to work in are ink and watercolor. With a little inspiration from a friend to start these paintings, I’ve created two bohemian skulls as part of a larger series of Skulls & Flowers.

skulls-boho-bunnie3

These giclee prints are extremely high quality and are printed on heavy watercolor paper. The colors they use to print are basically the same type of ink as the watercolor itself, and the image quality will last over 100 years. I love the deckled edges; not only does the printing process make it look like an original painting, but the torn edges make it look like I came directly from my sketch book:)Continue reading…
