Spotlight on Squaresville Vintage in Los Feliz
In search of some vintage threads for our American Hustle themed party, I took Justin to one of my favorite vintage stores in Los Angeles. This store has some of the best hand-picked items from all eras. In the years that I’ve been shopping at Squaresville, I’ve found amazing 80’s lamé dresses, 60’s bohemian wrap dresses, a Celine belt, sundresses, fringe sweaters…all from $10-$30. It’s about time I’ve gotten around to more doodling! I’ve been painting a lot of watercolors recently but haven’t spent much time on my graphic design iPad creations. It’s kind of a lazy morning here in Los Angeles…I’m taking advantage of my time off before things get crazy busy again when I head back to Vegas to perform. It’s always nerve-racking planning a party, hoping we’ll get a solid turn-out. I’m proud to say we had about 25 guests counting down the ball to midnight in our family room this year, not bad! Dreams from LaLa land…
It’s been a pretty awesome year…I started the blog, I finished a full year of shows performing in Shania Twain’s band, had some amazing summer excursions to catch six Phish shows with Justin and our friends, and have been loving settling into our house in Sherman Oaks which we purchased just over a year ago. I moved to LA six years ago with a little under 3k and lots of big dreams. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities that have come my way and I can’t wait to get started on my newest visions for this year!Continue reading…
Perfect tennis weather in sunny Los Angeles!
When it’s 75 degrees and sunny in the dead of winter in Los Angeles, there’s not a second that I regret leaving the 18 degree frost-scraping mornings in Ohio. Christmas day we went hiking and New Year’s day…maybe that calls for the beach! Can I rub it in a little more? I don’t even own a winter jacket, and I have a box of gloves that are lost somewhere in the garage. With the weather so awesome right now, I’m trying to give my yoga mat a rest and hit the courts more.
