Happy Friday boho lovers! It’s been an eventful week to say the least since I’ve gotten back from tour. Lots of projects that I’m working on…a music video for the launch of my new musical group the String Chix, songwriting, print-making, photo-shooting, every day has been super slammed packed. And yesterday I just signed with a commercial agent here in LA, woo-hoo! My Billi Blues boot obsession.

I have an extreme love affair with boots. Over-the-knee, ankle, bootie, skinny, slouchy, lace-up, you name it, I own it. Boots make up probably 75% of my shoe collection and it’s continuing to build steam. Last month I came across Billi Blues on Instagram, and immediately started stalking them. I had never seen anything like a pair of Billi Blues. Started by two best friends who actually met in a hair salon a few years back, Billi Blues was born from a shared passion of fashion and design. Co-founders Jaye and Lulu launched Billi Blues at the end of 2013 have been opening pop-up shops across Australia. I was so excited to rock these boots that I actually planned my entire wardrobe for a music video shoot around these Billies before I even received them. A retro valentine.

Valentine’s Day has totally crept up on me this year. I’ve been in Vegas for the past three weeks performing and it kind of blew my mind today that it’s already the middle on the month! Unfortunately I won’t be with my beau this Valentine’s, but being in Vegas for this holiday of love will probably be pretty entertaining. Officially the second most popular wedding destination in the country (with Hawaii topping out at number one) I am sure I’ll see a bunch of brides in the audience this Friday night when I’m on stage with Shania Twain. And if anyone of you have been to Shania’s show here in Vegas, you know that’s going to make for one hell of a audience participation campfire scene.Continue reading…

Not too long ago I had the pleasure of working with the owners of Skinny Bags, Elena and her husband Kiril, on a fashion post featuring this awesome Holy Bible clutch. During the shoot, we had a few cocktails at the bar a totally hit it off. They’re such an inspiring young couple and they’re taking their designer handbag line (that just launched this past fall) to the next level. Check out their kickstarter! It’s no secret that I have a slight obsession with boots. When I go on tour for a month at a time I literally pack an entire suitcase full of boots, no joke. When it gets warm in the summer I’ll wear the occasional sandal but mostly ensembles made up of daisy dukes, boots and sundresses. When I was introduced to this amazing handmade bohemian clothing and footwear company, I knew I had to do a feature on them! If you’re anything like me, you probably keep every single reusable shopping bag ever given to you. I probably have 20+ Free People cloth bags, a handful of Urban Outfitters reusable totes, and basically anything with a cute logo that can be used again. I especially love using these bags for my shoes when I travel. I’m a hoarder when it comes to shoes and I get paranoid about any types of scuffs or squishing when I throw em in a suitcase, so every shoe always gets it’s own little cloth bag. Recently I’ve been getting more creative with my reusable totes and have been using them in my gift wrapping.
