There is one lingerie brand that I could absolutely live in, and that would be Clare Bare. Clare finds the cutest vintage fabrics and with her magic makes them into the sexiest, most comfortable, limited edition works of art. I’m slowly building my collection and am striving for a complete overhaul of my skivvies into Clare Bare originals. It wouldn’t be a Clare Bare shoot without the third member of the team, the incredible Angela Izzo. Our little getaway to the Madonna Inn gave us endless inspiration for these looks. True fantasyland!

Vegas Baby

Fear and Loathing at The English Hotel

While there was no mesaclin or sheets of high power blotter acid (just your typical lychee martini) I felt like I was channeling my best Raoul Duke in the lobby of Las Vegas’s English Hotel. Ashley Myers and I set out for our typical adventure day of cocktailing and photographing. Ashley had been wanting to check out this new hotel, and when we arrived the owner generously welcomed us to shoot and even offered us a tour of the rooms. The plush orange velvet couldn’t be a more perfect backdrop for my $7 vintage sequin cocktail dress which no one has wanted to alter (apparently sequins kill sewing machines so a few safety pins did the trick for this shoot) and my newly acquired vintage yellow cowboy hat from Wellema Hat Co. Inspired by my current musician crush, Laura Leezy, I went full power clash with these colors.

Starlight

Make a wish

For the three short days we were at the Madonna Inn, I felt like we made it our home. With each room so uniquely decorated we had three completely different fantasy worlds to play in. We had the late night bar all to ourselves, and even got a private ghost tour of the grounds. You can feel the magic as soon as you walk onto the property. Right away Angela and I started shooting in our own personal spiral staircase cupola in the center of our room. Our dear friend Clare Bare handmade the most beautiful lingerie and kimono that inspired these beautiful film shots.

Giddy Up

I’ve always had a fascination with pin up culture (I was Bettie Page for Halloween no less than five years in a row) and of course anything rock n roll western, so merging the two in the studio with Marc Alt was a photoshoot dream. The inspiration for it all came from this epic repurposed gun holster designed and hand crafted by Chris West. Who needs a purse when you have a gun holster as an option? Paired with some of my very favorites from Planet Cowboy, Clare Bare, Shannon Noelke Metal Arts, Boho Lizzy & Manam.

I always keep an extra outfit in the car when I’m visiting my dear friend Angela Izzo. There’s nothing like a casual Wednesday in Los Angeles, running errands all over the city, stopping for a glass of wine mid way through and musing for an impromptu photo shoot. This dreamy Hippie Shake body suit has yet to make it’s debut on stage because I haven’t found the right bottoms yet, but who needs pants, right? Dreamy shoots are Angela Izzo’s specialty and if you’re in the Los Angeles area you must check out her immersive photography workshop, GAZE, this Saturday, May 7th 2022.

Rio

Her name is Rio and she dances in the sand

Rio, Brazil is undeniably one of my favorites cities I’ve been to. The lush green jungles, cocktails, white sand beaches, the music, and the seemingly innate ability for all women to dance. The kind of dancing that looks so nonchalant but the hips and feet move in the most incredible rhythm and direction. When I arrived at Ashley’s home in Las Vegas for one of our girls’ weekend/photo shoot adventuring trips, she had this vision of shooting the Rio sign at sunset. Obviously the only reasonable thing to wear was this two piece mesh tie-dye set from Adriana Sahar. Negroni in hand and an “ask for forgiveness, not permission” mindset, we managed to place ourselves in the best location for the magic of the Rio sign. Until I can make it back to Rio, Brazil, I’ll continue to dance on rooftops, and take photos in colorful carnival worthy clothing. Saúde!

Flores Lane

Setting the mood and intentions with Flores Lane

What a year, right? I’m always one to juggle a million projects and ideas around, but constantly staying busy creating art is what truly makes me happy. While it feels like 2021 has just been a constantly evolving shit show, I did my best to get lost in my art. This past year I finished my first life size commissioned oil painting which has inspired me to create more prints and promote my art more, I got to play with some incredible musicians and make new friends including the Stu Hamm Band, Journey and KYGO, I got to travel domestically (not as much as I normally do, but still very grateful for that), I got to play Red Rocks, see The Stones, made three trips to Joshua Tree (two trips for shows and one for a dear friend’s wedding) and produced a Christmas music video which has been my biggest solo musical production to date. This year is off to a solid start with so many new goals I plan to achieve and I feel like I’ll actually have the time to make them happen! I have plans for new music videos, more paintings and maybe even a children’s book that I’ll write and illustrate! It’s gotta start somewhere and I’m using this blog post to hold myself accountable. When it’s time to unwind from my constantly busy mind, or time to get motivated to create, I’ve got a few Flores Lane candles burning. There’s nothing like being in a room with warm soy candles and delicious scents. If you’re in the market for new candles and wondering which Flores Lane scent to choose, you’ll never be disappointed because every single scent that Flores Lane creates is amazing. Lounging Las Vegas

Poolside in Vegas sounds just about right. And nothing could be more lounge worthy than a gorgeous two piece set from Tulle & Batiste. What I love so much about this company is that everything is designed and made ethically in Bali in Tulle & Batiste’s very own factory. The garments are SO well made and the fabrics feel absolutely incredible, the olive color way is one of my favorites. Tulle & Batiste’s shoes are equally stunning, these all leather woven sandals have become a staple in my wardrobe, living at the beach I probably wear them just about every day. And let’s talk about some fringe…never too much! The pom pom crochet bag is such a rad statement piece with so much movement. All perfectly fitting with this amazing retro leather couch from Titus Cosmos.

Abacaxi Keeni

Endless Summer

I know it’s technically sweater weather but that just means adding one more layer over your bikini. Of the 15 years that I’ve lived in Los Angeles, I’ve finally moved to the beach and my bikinis are actually seeing the light of day on a regular basis. This ‘Bum Bum’ set from Abacaxi Keeni is one of my all time faves and has been currently on eternal repeat in the bikini rotation. The ruffles are my absolute favorite part, along with the always flattering rouched bottoms. I’ll definitely be wearing this under other garments, and yes in fact it would pair so well with a slouchy beach sweater. The artist, Lana, has hand-painted and drawn the design for each of her suits. As a fellow painter I so appreciate that extra bit of love in each and every piece.
