Pane e Vino

Cobblestone & candles

In exactly one week I’ll be back in the land of countless carbohydrates. I have come to terms with the fact that I literally have no self control when confronted with a basket of Italian bread, pasta, pizza, or vino. My last super would probably just consist of bread, oil and vinegar. All the vegan goodies in the world could not replace the gratification I get from one slice of perfectly baked focaccia. And there’s no better place to experience this than of course at an outdoor cafe, perfected situated on a cobblestone street in Rome. Adorned with candles from my very favorite candle company, Flores Lane, that made the overseas journey from Los Angeles to Italy to join me in my favorite meal of all time.

Hand poured in Hollywood all the way to cobblestone cafes in Rome. Saluti!

Maeve’s All Natural Skin Care

May 10, 2018

On the road with Maeve’s

When I travel skin care is of upmost importance. Staying hydrated from all the planes, buses, trains, hotel rooms…it’s a constant battle when you’re constantly changing locations. More and more having all natural, vegan products are essential in my travel arsenal. There are so many unnecessary chemicals in our foods and products, and especially from traveling in Europe, I realized how the United States uses so many unnatural ingredients in products compared to other societies. Even though tour in Europe is normally pretty exhausting, Europe in general is a slower and more natural pace of life which I’m really attracted to. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t leave the golden handcuffs of Los Angeles. But I can change the ingredients I’m putting into and on my body. And Maeve’s is one that I can’t live without.

Happy traveling, and stay hydrated my bunnies!

Desert dwellings in Joshua Tree

Someday soon I will own a little piece of land in Joshua Tree. My favorite local retreat in the world. Yes, there’s the western coastline of Italy with it’s beautiful coves and beaches, and the coastline of France with romantic little towns nestled away amongst the cliffs. But if I need a local escape I’ll hit the desert. A quick 2.5 hour drive into magic and seclusion, mysticism and nature, self love and empowerment. This is what desert brings me. And I am so fortunate recently to come across an amazing and creative soul that handcrafts pieces made for the desert rocker. The perfect mix of western wasteland and rock n roll. I am in love with everything that Robert Warner creates and was honored to shoot some of his incredible pieces on his ranch.

Santorini Celebration

April 6, 2018

It’s my birthday!

It’s been a second since my last post. What an overwhelming month it’s been! A tour in Italy that was (and is always) musically inspiring but holy hell physically draining. Ten days in Rome romping around (unfortunately in 40 degree weather) a few out of town gigs, a couple two three recording sessions and that brings me to one month after my last blog post. Time certainly does fly. I’m 36 this year and it seems just last year I was celebrating my 21st birthday. Lots to be grateful for and even lots more to look forward to and achieve! I have an EP in the works (instrumental Grateful Dead covers and a few originals), more touring coming up, more paintings that I’ll be selling here on the blog, and more traveling of course! Happy Birthday to all my fellow Aries people out there, I hope your day is just as magical!

When in Rome

March 2, 2018

Wandering the cobbled streets of Rome

I’m officially back in Italy! Not quite the Italy I remembered from this past summer…I’m currently staring out of my hotel window in Milan watching a small blizzard blow through. A nice change of pace from Los Angeles sunshine, but it is inevitably hindering my boozey lunch dates. Half of my suitcase of course was packed with the idea of Sicily in mind so my snow clothes consist of cowboy boots and a leather biker jacket. But I’m pulling for you Rome, I’ll be back in a few weeks and hoping for some happiest of hour weather.

Between the color and the fit of this Jennafer Gracious dress, I’m not sure which I’m swooning over more. The Setara Jewelry leather, gold and crystal necklaces couldn’t complement it better.

Santorini Valentine

Tease Lux Lingerie

I’m not normally one to do lingerie type shoots, but being in the location we were, the products easily speak for themselves. Tease Lux Lingerie with, Desert Daisy Jewelry and a Jennafer Gracious kimono that would basically let you take flight in the Santorini breeze. Sending lots of love to my beautiful readers on Valentine’s Day!

I hope your day is filled with lots of love and magic!

Wish You Were Here

With love, from Joshua Tree

I’m a sucker for good looking stationery. For the past ten years I’ve been sending out hundreds of my own custom holiday cards each year. I love hand written greetings; getting a snail mail thank you or note is always heart-warming. Customizable online print shop, Basic Invite, will get you excited to send out invites, announcements, postcards, even business cards! I took my beautifully made Basic Invite samples to Joshua Tree for a little feature in the desert.

Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card (as in the multiple shades of pinks that I chose) to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the announcements are exactly how you want it down to the smallest detail.

The Bohemian Bunnie personalized stationery is one of my favorite samples that I ordered. The perfect little size notecard for a quick thought or thank you.

I remember the days when birthday invites were with either printed with Print Shop (not photo shop but it’s predecessor of extremely pixilated clip art) or whatever happened to be the current trend in cartoon character designs at the time. We’ve come quite a way with being able to design birthday invitations. I even uploaded my own art for one of my invites.

This photograph was from the very first photo shoot that Ashley and I did three years ago in the dry lake bed of Las Vegas. It’s such a beautiful shot that works so well on a card. Basic Invite did a fantastic job with the quality of printing.

I love the templates for business cards. As far as design, I literally did not change a thing on this card. Simple, feminine and to the point.

Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51

Lovers come and go, the river roll, roll, roll.

San Francisco has become a new favorite destination of mine. Just this past November, right after I got back from tour, I made two separate trips to the city of free love. The first was a solo excursion where I met a handful of new friends and acquintances, went to a few shows and hung out with some new drinking buddies. One of whom catfished me the next morning when I got a phone call from his “wife,” however, the whole situation made for a much more entertaining getaway. The second weekend was much less dramatic, and much more creative, getting to bounce around town with Ashley eating boozey lunch and taking photos, our normal traveling routine. This shoot in particular is near and dear to my heart. As you may know I’ve been a Dead fan since I was 13, so photographing this Granted Sweater Company Jerry Garcia hand knit cardigan was a highlight of the weekend. Each one of these sweaters is designed in Richmond, BC and can take 20-25 hours to produce by hand. So much love and time put into each of the pieces which makes wearing this sweater always a special occasion.

Breaking out the 35 mm…

Literally the coziest Air Bnb we could have asked found for a rainy San Francisco weekend.

“Fare you well, fare you well, i love you more than words can tell,
Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul.”

Grecian Holiday

December 27, 2017

All that glitters is gold

As I sit in the below freezing temperatures of snowy Ohio, I couldn’t imagine a better escape than Santorini in the month of August. Of the dozens of countries I traveled to this year, it wasn’t until Santorini that I was able to really settle in and let go. The tannest I’ve been since my sorority spring break ’02, and literally the best vegan food I’ve eaten all year, this girl couldn’t be happier. Add in a gold-flecked Chateau Bel Age dress fit for a Grecian goddess…pure paradise.

Absolutely obsessed with golden chain quartz piece from Setara Jewelry. One of my favorite pieces to wear with a white tee or dress up with more gold.

Happy Holidays and stay warm, bunnies!
