Santorini Valentine

Tease Lux Lingerie

I’m not normally one to do lingerie type shoots, but being in the location we were, the products easily speak for themselves. Tease Lux Lingerie with, Desert Daisy Jewelry and a Jennafer Gracious kimono that would basically let you take flight in the Santorini breeze. Sending lots of love to my beautiful readers on Valentine’s Day!

I hope your day is filled with lots of love and magic!

With love, from Joshua Tree

I’m a sucker for good looking stationery. For the past ten years I’ve been sending out hundreds of my own custom holiday cards each year. I love hand written greetings; getting a snail mail thank you or note is always heart-warming. Customizable online print shop, Basic Invite, will get you excited to send out invites, announcements, postcards, even business cards! I took my beautifully made Basic Invite samples to Joshua Tree for a little feature in the desert.

Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card (as in the multiple shades of pinks that I chose) to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the announcements are exactly how you want it down to the smallest detail.

The Bohemian Bunnie personalized stationery is one of my favorite samples that I ordered. The perfect little size notecard for a quick thought or thank you.

I remember the days when birthday invites were with either printed with Print Shop (not photo shop but it’s predecessor of extremely pixilated clip art) or whatever happened to be the current trend in cartoon character designs at the time. We’ve come quite a way with being able to design birthday invitations. I even uploaded my own art for one of my invites.

This photograph was from the very first photo shoot that Ashley and I did three years ago in the dry lake bed of Las Vegas. It’s such a beautiful shot that works so well on a card. Basic Invite did a fantastic job with the quality of printing.

I love the templates for business cards. As far as design, I literally did not change a thing on this card. Simple, feminine and to the point.

Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51

Lovers come and go, the river roll, roll, roll.

San Francisco has become a new favorite destination of mine. Just this past November, right after I got back from tour, I made two separate trips to the city of free love. The first was a solo excursion where I met a handful of new friends and acquintances, went to a few shows and hung out with some new drinking buddies. One of whom catfished me the next morning when I got a phone call from his “wife,” however, the whole situation made for a much more entertaining getaway. The second weekend was much less dramatic, and much more creative, getting to bounce around town with Ashley eating boozey lunch and taking photos, our normal traveling routine. This shoot in particular is near and dear to my heart. As you may know I’ve been a Dead fan since I was 13, so photographing this Granted Sweater Company Jerry Garcia hand knit cardigan was a highlight of the weekend. Each one of these sweaters is designed in Richmond, BC and can take 20-25 hours to produce by hand. So much love and time put into each of the pieces which makes wearing this sweater always a special occasion.

Breaking out the 35 mm…

Literally the coziest Air Bnb we could have asked found for a rainy San Francisco weekend.

“Fare you well, fare you well, i love you more than words can tell,
Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul.”

Grecian Holiday

December 27, 2017

All that glitters is gold

As I sit in the below freezing temperatures of snowy Ohio, I couldn’t imagine a better escape than Santorini in the month of August. Of the dozens of countries I traveled to this year, it wasn’t until Santorini that I was able to really settle in and let go. The tannest I’ve been since my sorority spring break ’02, and literally the best vegan food I’ve eaten all year, this girl couldn’t be happier. Add in a gold-flecked Chateau Bel Age dress fit for a Grecian goddess…pure paradise.

Absolutely obsessed with golden chain quartz piece from Setara Jewelry. One of my favorite pieces to wear with a white tee or dress up with more gold.

Happy Holidays and stay warm, bunnies!

Dreaming of Italy in shades of rose gold

Once you’ve reached the bottom of this thirty-something photo post you’ll realize why this was my favorite shoot of the European tour. This rose gold sequin tunic dress by Jennafer Grace Collection feels like rock star royalty. Equipped with a plunging neckline that laces up with a gold chain, this dress is far from form fitting but oh so lala sexy! Shot in the beautiful entrance way of Villa Nichesola, everything was 100 percent in our favor except for the 50 mosquito bites I ended up with by dusk. But hey, the things we do for fashion.

From this shoot I have officially become obsessed with dark lips. Thank you Thea Cosmetics for breaking the goth barrier.

May your holiday festivities be filled with sparkle and sequins!

May the four winds blow you safely home

I miss these sunsets. Five beautiful nights in Santorini watching the sun reach beneath the sea from a villa at the top of the highest point of the island. Greece is exactly how I envisioned it, cascading white buildings streaming down the cliffs, and sunsets that warm your insides like you’ve just had the most delicious glass of wine. Admittedly I was especially looking forward to the hummus, I was in the motherland and I wouldn’t expect anything less. But apart from my favorite snack of little smashed beans, I ate the most delicious vegetarian dishes of my life! Avocado, beans, spinach, fancy mushrooms (not THAT kinda fancy, but the ouzo got us close) anything my little veggie heart desired. Out of the dozens of countries I have traveled to in the past year, Greece takes the prize for food. But enough about stuffing my face with grape leaves and falafel, this is a ‘fashion blog.’ And nothing complements the white scapes of Greece like the bold colors of Pachamama Bohemian, Ouroboros Designs and L di R.

Leather, turquoise macrame. This statement piece from Ouroboros Designs is unreal.

Like pieces of art for your feet! Obsessed with these moccasins form L di R.

The fit on this jacket is perfection! And has just about every one of my favorite colors.

“Whichever way your pleasure tends
If you plant ice you’re gonna harvest wind.”

From Verona, With Love

November 4, 2017

Italy is for lovers

Everything is so much more romantic in Italy. The history, the architecture, the food, the way of life. Added bonus that Shakespeare’s Rome & Juliet takes place in Italy, specifically Verona. Verona has felt like my second home over these past 18 months. Performing a recording breaking 21 sold old shows at the Arena di Verona in one calendar year with Zucchero, I’ve almost spent more time in Verona than Los Angeles. There are so many things I wish I could bring home with me: the cafes, the cobblestone streets, the amorone risotto, the vino, the vegan gelato, it’s such a romantic way of life. The muted reds, yellows and pinks and blues paint the perfect picture of an Italian love story. From daytime gelato eating to nighttime vino sipping, Buckle came on the road with us to the city of love for the perfect day to night Italian street style.

True story…I had to have instruction on how to eat this gelato for the camera. I think we have at least 30 outtakes.

Ahhhh, my favorite newly discovered restaurant in Verona. A wine cellar that has a secret passage to the Arena di Verona and is home to more than 20,000 bottles of wine!

Love, love love these booties from Buckle. So versatile with jeans, dresses, socks, any which way.

That’s amore, my bunnies!

Mykonos Musings

October 29, 2017

This June began one long summer tour for me. Beginning in Italy and making our way through Europe, Scandinavia and even a dip into Africa, Greece and now South America, I couldn’t have planned better to keep the warm weather rolling through the beginning of November. Today we travel to Curitiba, Brazil, for our final show of the Black Cat World tour. So many memories and highlights that I’ll enjoy reminiscing for the rest of my life. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to be able to capture my travels with photographer extraordinare, Ashley Myers, in some of the most beautiful locations in the world. And of course being outfitted in gorgeous accessories and wardrobe. Idyllwild Designs, Cloud Ranch Jewelry and Yoga Outlet accompanied us on this magical day of exploring Mykonos.

Such beautiful detail on these pieces! And mad props to Idyllwild Designs for using vegan leather!

Cloud Ranch Jewelry is currently one of my favorite designers to wear everyday. With the fires that just occurred in Sonoma, the designer’s studio was completely devasted. I cannot even imagine the grief for a lifetime of work lost in a fire. If you’re interested in supporting this artist, please visit her website and help her continue with her incredible art.

Cheers to forever summer, my bunnies!

Orange You Glad

Holidaze in Greece

What I would give for just one more day at the pool in Greece. Ouzo shots, mojitos and hummus for days while strumming drunk tunes on the ukulele. That’s how we spent our afternoons in Mykonos. The Ouzo may have gotten the best of me…these photos following pool time are a tell tale sign. What was a stumbling mess leaving the pool area to regroup and play dress up, actually turned out to be one of my favorite shoots of Mykonos. The stark white against the complete opposite sides of the color wheel (orange and blue) are some of my favorite color combos at the moment. This little gauze hippie top from The Little Bazaar made it’s rounds in Greece. If this top could talk, boy would it have a helluva story to share.

I’m really into these beautiful, delicate silver jewels from Cloud Ranch Jewelry.

Happy holidaze, love bunnies!
