Celebrate your yoga practice!
Did you know that it’s yoga awareness month?! Being the last few days of the month, there’s still time to get out there and either celebrate your own practice or maybe try a new yoga class for the first time! I’m a huge hot yoga fan…I’ve been practicing Bikram yoga for over 5 years now. I’m so grateful for those days that I come out of class with an extreme yoga high and a rejuvenated and relaxed outlook on anything that I’ve been stressing over recently. I’m lucky that when I go on tour in Las Vegas that I have PLENTY of yoga studios to choose from. But what do you do when you’re out of town and there’s no yoga studios in a 30 mile radius? Lucky for us yogis there’s a new trend going on in hotels…yoga class! I’m excited to share with you an article about the hottest resorts and hotels where you can get your yoga on without leaving the premises!
Om-ing in on the Best Hotels for Yoga (via www.gogobot.com)
You probably know that people are doing sun salutations like mad from the Big Apple to the Aloha State, but you may not be aware that September is National Yoga Awareness Month. Created by the Department of Health and Human Services, this month the…
Welcome to Freebie Fridays! Every Friday I include links to new designs/doodles/art for you to download and enjoy! I’ve always been fascinated with religious art. I’ve been wanted to do a painting of Ganesha for a while (this Hindu elephant diety) and so I’ve finally done a short sketch. It turns out Ganesha is a patron for the arts and sciences, very fitting!
If you’re on your phone or iPad, click on the link and the image will pop up on your screen. Hold down the image and save it to your camera roll then add it to your home screen, icon screen, etc. If you’re on your computer it will go right into your download folder.
Where can you use this art? Well, I’ve started by offering links to download for all of your handheld devices to use for a home screen, wallpaper, etc. Maybe you want to print it out and use it for wrapping paper, scrapbooking, greeting cards, the sky is the limit. I only ask that if you use it online for something that you link it back to me:) And maybe show a little love…follow me on some of my social media platforms, too!
If there’s some sort of design you would love to see, let me know! I love getting new ideas, cheers!
Channeling my inner Courtney Love
I have been seriously waiting for grunge to come back in style for a while. The flannels, Doc Martin’s, baby doll dresses…I love them all. This era of style brings me back to my middle school years when I was just figuring out the music I liked, the clothes I wanted to wear and the pop icons I worshipped. Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins was plastered all over my locker during these years, and my wardrobe was on rotation of flannels, over sized sweaters, band t-shirts and anything with an emipre waist. I wasn’t allowed to own Doc Martens (my mom thought they were too heavy and would throw out my back) so I settled for my Chuck Taylors and low-top Doc spin-offs made my Easton. I was so obsessed with these shoes, I still remember the smell of the leather and thick rubber sole from when I was thirteen. Fast forward to 18 years later and the updated grunge look rocks even harder, especially with an awesome collection of graphic tees by Skip N’ Whistle!Continue reading…

Neon & Neutral Boho Rock with Ara Nicole
I took a break from the normal lazy breakfast routine at home and ventured out to Ventura Boulevard for an early morning cappuccino with my beau. Most days I don’t leave the house until 1 pm, a schedule I never take for granted! A little change of pace was very energizing…or maybe it was the triple shot cappucino:) Sometimes not dressing for the occasion in LA is that much cooler, and I have to admit I felt a little like a rockstar rollin into the Blu Jam cafe at 9 am in these threads. Welcome to Freebie Fridays! Every Friday I include links to new designs/doodles/art for you to download and enjoy! This week my design is inspired by some sketches I’m doing for watercolor prints I’ll be painting and selling on the blog. I’m partnering up with an up-and-coming beauty and design site next month and some of these prints I’m making will be featured in an interior design special!Continue reading…
One of my favorite bands at the moment, Alabama Shakes
Whenever we can, Justin and I try to catch live music around LA as much as possible. LA is so saturated with live music, it’s easy to take your pick. But being a musician myself, it’s difficult to find days or nights to set aside when I don’t have band practice or a gig myself. I’ve been digging Alabama Shakes debut album, Boys & Girls, since it came out so I was stoked to hear they were rollin through Hollywood this summer!
