Blue Ice Heisen-ritas!

Breaking-Bad-Finale-Party-15

Gearing up for our Breaking Bad finale party, our first batch topped the charts at 97% and we didn’t even have to harness Jessie to the ceiling! Heisenberg would be proud.

Our blue meth prep: Rock Candy Crystals & blue food coloring.

Heisenberg’s perfected recipe:

  • 2:1 Ratio of Rock Candy to water
  • 5 or more drops of blue food coloring
  • Over low heat stir like crazy til it turns to a molasses-like texture. The key is to keep stirring so it doesn’t harden before the pour.
  • Pour into a pyrex dish and when it hardens crack it up!

 Now time for those Heisen-ritas!

  • 750 ml of silver tequila (full bottle)
  • 12 oz of blue curacao liquer
  • 1 liter of club soda
  • 1/2 bottle of sour mix (roughly 16 oz)
  • Juice of 3 limes
  • This serves approximately 10 people. Per drink roughly 1.5 oz tequila, .5 oz blue curacao, fill the rest of the glass with 2:1 ratio of soda water to sour mix. Squeeze some lime to finish.

Time to coat those glasses with our fresh batch of the blue stuff! The best way to get the rock candy to stick is to coat the rim with a little lime juice.

After all that meth cooking reward yourself with what else but Stephen Colbert’s “Americone Dream!” And for your most annoying friend (or the ones who commit the most severe party fouls) add a dash of ricin.

Truly an amazing and tearful end to one of the best shows on television!

@Bohobunnie

It’s been a while since I introduced myself. Hi! It’s been a while since I introduced myself. Hi! I’m Andrea Whitt, musician, artist, stylist and model.
I get asked often about my pedal steel playing and thought I’d share a little of my musical journey.

My first instrument was guitar when I was 8. I was given an acoustic guitar for Christmas and by April I had taught myself a handful of songs that I had my friends sing along with me at my 9th birthday. That year I started playing viola, and went on to get my masters degree at University of Cincinnati CCM in viola performance. I was getting so tired of playing the same classical rep that I joined the jazz department.
I moved to LA after college, and as a surprise to myself was able to support myself doing music full time. Except a gig as a spray tan artist, but that’s another story 🤣 A huge part of my musical career has been teaching private lessons, group classes and conducting youth orchestras.

I played in rock bands, orchestras, did sessions, random gigs (many shitty ones) until I landed the gig with Shania Twain. I was hired as a violist and fiddle player. I purchased my first violin for this gig and went to local bluegrass jams to learn fiddle styles, definitely fell on my face every time. It was when I was in Shania’s band that I saw a pedal steel for the first time. I was obsessed. I immediately ordered one off of eBay and had it sent to my hotel room in Vegas. Being a Grateful Dead fan I decided the priority was to learn all of the iconic Jerry Garcia pedal steel solos. Note for note, I taught myself steel with all of Jerry’s signature licks.

Shortly after the Shania gig, I got hired to play in Zucchero’s band. A three year world tour to 48 countries. Even though I had only been playing steel for 3 years I got to perform on steel on a handful of songs every show. When you’re sitting at a new instrument in front of 20,000 people you learn fast!

Now pedal steel is just as much a part of my career as viola and fiddle. Thank you for supporting my journey, many of you have been following since my first steel post. I have lots of new announcements coming soon, thanks for joining me on this long strange trip!
