Desert Chakra

Morning asanas.

Wouldn’t this just be the life, waking up and strolling through the desert to perch barefoot on a warm, sun kissed rock and practice daily meditation? One of these days I’ll break out of my 4am-10am sleeping habits and get my mornings started off right. Yoga has been such a meaningful activity for me. When I first moved to LA I became slightly obsessed with it and took Bikram yoga classes 5-6 days a week! I was scraping by and putting only $10 at a time into my gas tank but sure as hell finding a way to pay for my yoga classes. That extreme dedication paid off; even when I’m traveling or insanely busy with work, for the most part my body knows exactly where it left off last class. As much intention that I put into my yoga practice, it’s only fitting to pair my practice with handmade creations by beautiful artists Mal Wingostarr & Shannon Noelke. What’s in store for the new year? While I can’t make it back to my daily routine quite yet, I am now living within walking distance of my original yoga studio! Celebration Day

We are gonna dance and sing in celebration, We are in the promised land.

It’s officially the last day of 2015 as I write this. Crazy ups, crazy downs and some major life changing events pretty much sum up the past year for me. I’m super stoked for the year to come with some amazing plans for the blog including the launch of my clothing line, fragrance and other goodies, even a road trip to Marfa, Texas! Music wise there are some incredible things in action that I’m excited to see come to life. 2016 in many ways is a new beginning to me, more so than any other year. I’m ready to kick some ass and make all of my crazy dreams a reality. And I’ll be doing it all In style, pouring champagne down my neck of course. Sometimes the best things come completely unplanned like my late night drunken Vegas shoot with the endless talent Ashley Myers. Not sure what to expect, we headed to Vegas’s staple souvenir shop to have cars literally clear the parking lot so I could douse myself in champagne. Wearing my fave vintage faux fur flea market find, a slip that probably didn’t cover my booty and some shit kickers, the only thing harmed in the making of this shoot was my weave. Champagne and hair extensions aren’t the best pairing.Continue reading…

Bronzed lids and warm skin hues are one of 2016’s biggest trends. What I love about this look is that it’s super simple to accomplish and you’ll always have a fresh vacation glow that looks good with anything. Even on the coldest winter day in the middle of Ohio in front of a log cabin, a little extra glow is good for everyone. Thigh highs, booties & mini dresses. If I could pick one staple combination to live in the rest of the season this would be it. And I’m kinda obsessing over everything that has a little western edge to it, something I could imagine Linda Ronstadt or Emmylou Harris rocking on stage. Light colored shoes with black opaque tights have found a new place in my heart, it really makes any shoe seasonless. Perfect for a down town Las Vegas stroll.Continue reading…

Liberty Garden

All cozied up in everything faux.

I’ve become such a cold weather wimp. Growing up in wind chill temperatures that would shut down a school district, you think I could brave the California winter that dips just below 40 degrees. Not one bit. I wrap myself in my ginormous comforter every faux fur throw that I own until the last minute that I run into the scalding hot shower. I can’t imagine a cozier and cuter faux fur sweater and faux suede pants that gets me through the cool Cali holiday weather and festivities. If you’re aren’t hip to Liberty Garden, literally EVERYTHING in their line is to die for. An awesome mix of 70’s retro, with a little western glam. And if you wanna feel all done up but in the comfort level of never leaving your morning covers, you’ve gotta snatch this outfit up!

Every time I see her, she got new fancy clothes.

It was the morning after in Vegas. The night before I rolled into the Dead & Company show solo and danced the night away to some Scarlet Begonias and Sugaree. Since I totally missed out on a t-shirt purchase at the Fare Thee Well shows over the summer, I made a b-line to the merch table and literally scored the last small Dead & Company shirt. After standing front and center for the show and scoring my favorite concert tee actually in my size, I felt like I picked the winning slot machine. Paired with the hottest little retro Funky Bitch shorts from Jam Panties and thigh highs from my all time favorite sock company, Bergies NYC, I was ready to either throw on some roller skates or romp around the hotel room all morning.Continue reading…

Ramble on baby, settle down easy…

It was a weekend full of music, art, friendship and love. A last minute trip to Vegas to make beautiful art with Ashley Myers, catch a Dead and Company show, and a solo road trip to clear my mind. There’s nothing like watching a performance of some of your all time favorite musicians to inspire you for the weekend. This Johnny Was poncho has become a sort of inspirational piece for me. I wore it on stage performing with Phil Lesh (of the Grateful Dead) a fews weeks back, danced around in it at the Dead and Company show and twirled in the deserts of Las Vegas with my friend Ashley.
