“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”
In early December I had the honor of throwing a baby shower for one of my closest friends, Mandy. It’s crazy how our lives crossed paths so many times and it wasn’t until our professional careers that we became such good friends. It started when we were 12 in youth orchestras, then summer music camps in Interlochen, Michigan, then college, then as a touring string quartet and finally our most recent gig as members of Shania Twain’s band. You may have seen this gorgeous and uber talented cellist in our String Chix music video. Over the past 4 years we’ve probably played over 200 shows together, rehearsed countless hours, toured across the country and Canada and put in over 400 hours of hair and make-up gossip time. What was discussed in those 400 hours? Luckily that remains in the walls of all those dressing rooms. I was sooooo excited to help throw this amazing woman her first baby shower, all while she was performing during our last Caesar’s run with Shania Twain, just two weeks before her baby boy arrived! Oh, and did I mention she ran a marathon in October? My idol!
Welcome to Mandy’s Secret Garden…
I saw a photo of moss filled mason jars and tea lights randomly while searching for baby shower ideas. Obviously making these are simple enough to do on your own. Links to the shops I used include: moss, jars, lids, flowers.
Jenn, our third member of String Chix and insanely talented violinst, decorates our photo booth trellis.
Hands down this company has to be one of the best for delivering succulents. All in such perfect condition!
Each succulent party favor was tied with a mini secret garden key.
Crystal, another gorgeous and amazingly talented musician, makes these insane diaper cakes! And also the beautiful secret garden welcome sign below.
Filling out thank you card envelopes is a must!
Natural and compostable palm leaf plates and bamboo paper straws.
This little baby boy is set!
This gorgeous handmade garland by Tilly Lilly arrived just in time from the UK to make its appearance at Mandy’s shower. You may have seen it in the White Rabbit post, and it will be making many more appearances on Boho Bunnie. Each piece of fabric is hand-tied, mixed in with crochet chains, shells, mini bells, pearls, lace…just about anything that would make up the most perfect bohemian garland.
Hand embroidered battery pack for the fairy lights.
Can this mom-to-be be any more perfect?
Mandy’s beautiful baby boy was born on Chirstmas Day, just 17 days after her shower! Much love and congratulations!!!

Hi,
So adorable but I’m curious… Do you know
What size you choose for the succulents? I’m thinking
Of also doing these for a baby shower I’m throwing…
Some seem so small. Yours seemed just right.
Thanks,
Jasmin
