Lady of the Lake

There’s a magical sound slidin’ over the ground

It’s only fitting that I’m as I’m writing this post with serene images of Crestline Lake that I’m headed to Ohio for a few weeks, and northern Ohio in particular where I spent part of my summers on Lake Erie. Visiting this almost Midwest-like California town for the first time was magical. It completely took me back to my dad’s cottage on the river in Ohio and my aunt’s lake house in Michigan. Such an escape from LA traffic, drought dried grass and hazy skies. I could have stayed a whole week in this humble little town with places to sit and daydream for days. Packing the these rad mountain threads from Femmebot Clothing for this trip couldn’t have been a better decision. Easy, breezy western bohemian pieces that travel so well.Continue reading…
Mai Tais and Mermaids

Maui Sunsets

It’s been about a month since my trip to Maui and I’m finally getting a chance to share the second round of photos by local photographer Danielle Nowicki. Forgetting that not every place is sunny without at a chance of rain like 99% of the time in LA, I completely lucked out with the Hawaiian weather for this shoot. And the Mai Tais? I definitely had my fair share over the course of the five days, answering most of my emails under the influence, but hey, when in Maui…Continue reading…
Dirty Laundry

Dirty little secrets, Dirty little lies

It’s actually one of those mornings that I have at least 5 loads of laundry sitting on my bedroom floor. And if you’re anything like me, I air dry at least 75% of my laundry so that means my bedroom currently looks like an open air market in Instanbul with bohemian threads draping from every knob, hook and rod that can hold a hanger. It was last month that I stumbled across this sweet little laundromat in Crestline, California with my photographer. Not one counter had been changed since the 70’s (possibly a handful of dryers as well) and it even came equipped with a local resident that didn’t look up once from his newspaper despite my twirling obnoxiously around in a wheeled laundry basket. Wearing a dress from Femmebot Clothing I could literally live in, I pranced around this little pastel paradise without any actual laundry obligation and only doing activities my 10 year old self would be stoked to do.Continue reading…
