An inside look at MTV and Target’s Live-streaming Bullseye University with Brett Young
Just this past Thursday, July 18th, I got to perform live for MTV with an up and coming country artist, Brett Young! This whole concept was pretty rad! Bullseye University was set up by Target in conjunction with MTV to broadcast live, interactive, and yes an EXTREMELY addicting reality dorm life. The broadcast lasted July 15th-18th with a final concert by four bands: Brett Young, Dinner and a Suit, Royal Teeth, and Asher Monroe.
The whole set-up was pretty freakin’ amazing! One stage and 5 dorm rooms decorated with awesome dorm decor from Target! Right smack in the middle of UCLA, the perfect campus to hold a college-themed event.
Brett Young’s band: Christopher Allis (drums), ME (viola), Brett Young (lead vocals/guitar), Joe Ayoub (bass) & Noah Needleman (mando/guitar/vocals). Noah is the mastermind behind forming the band. An awesome singer-songwriter himself, Noah has been recently working with Brett recording his new album.
So a little about Brett Young…after a severe arm injury from baseball which took him off the pitcher’s mound of a major league baseball career, Brett turned to his music and began to take it more seriously. With three albums on an indie label under his belt, he’s going into the studio this summer with a Grammy award winning engineer to record his latest songs. With his amazing voice and super catchy country/pop songs, Brett is definitely an artist to look out for!
Pre-show band pics:)
Noah givin Boho Bunnie some love on his mandolin case!
It’s show time, baby!
Brett got to serenade a young audience member as a closing song…how cute is she!?! MC for the evening, Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship, did an killer job running the show:)
If you tuned into this live event, you got to witness the lives of social media celebrities as roomies! Chester See, Meekakitty, Magic of Rahat, Brooke “Dodger” Leigh, and Jenn Im. Answering tweets non-stop during the live stream, and of course partying, dancing, and other dorm life activities:)
Be sure to check back soon…I’ll hopefully have YouTube footage of our performance! So honored to play with such amazing musicians, looking forward to our next show:)
P.S….all the awesome photos by my talented bf, Justin Zangerle🙂
