Meditate and invigorate with Herbal Essences

#HerbalEssences4Body

Honestly, there’s nothing better than lathering up with your favorite scent after an intense workout. Scent has always been my favorite accessory. I love combining body oils, lotions and perfumes to create unique fragrances that gently linger with me throughout the day. So why not choose a body wash that will sustain and keep me feeling invigorated all day? We all know that Herbal Essences creates the best smelling shampoo, and their body wash ABSOLUTELY lives up to the reputation. What can you expect? Beautifully clean floral and fruit fragrances with the perfect amount of sweetness.Continue reading…

Coachella & Glow

Festival fashion. I feel like it’s becoming bigger than the September issue of Vogue. I admit, I’m obsessed with scrolling through the Coachella hashtags on Instagram right now and spotting the most fashionable gypsies in Indio. I’ve never been, but excited to announce that my band will be performing at the Riviera Hotel in Palm Springs next weekend. If you don’t know about the Riviera, it’s THE place to stay during the festival. Fingers crossed that next year we’ll be on the roster:) I’ve created a little Coachella screen saver for all of you festival go-ers and all of you festival wishers. Download to your device below, and also check out some threads from the awesome online shop, Glamour and Glow.

I’m absolutely in LOVE with Glamour and Glow’s spring look book! The faded florals, delicate layering necklaces, and a beautiful combination of bohemian and glam styles. There’s always free shipping on your order of $50 or more, and nothing will break the bank. If I lived in NY I’d be shopping in this store all the time!

There’s nothing like slipping into a delicate summer sundress and feeling the warmth of the sun trickle through the thin layer of fabric. I’m in love with everything about this free-flowing tunic dress from Pachamama Bohemian. It’s the perfect balance of ethereal and practical. Wearing it I feel like a bohemian princess but it’s so low maintenance I can pull it out of my closet and run out the door with no prep. And the colors! Reds, pinks and neutrals are some of my favorite new color combos.Continue reading…

Venice Beach Bunnie

Boho-Bunnie-Hari-Mari-baja-hoodie DSC_6133

Living in LA for the past 7 years I’m embarrassed to say that I can count on two hands the times I’ve made a day trip to the beach. I can officially (and proudly) call myself a valley girl. When I make it outside of my little bubble of Sherman Oaks, visiting the beach is such a surreal experience. The salty air, the burning incense, the beach artists who sell their crafts and henna tattoos make up this iconic span of ocean side called Venice. And when in Rome, well there’s nothing better to wear to Venice beach than your favorite flip flops and poncho.Continue reading…

“She’s a summer love for spring, fall and winter…”

pacific-and-driftwood-grateful-dead-coachella-fashion DSC_5906

I have honestly never been more excited for summer beach apparel. For the past couple years I’ve been humdrum about my bathing suit selection. The same old triangle tops and designer swim wear are nice, but well, uninteresting. I ran across the rad designs of Pacific and Driftwood on Instagram and became immediately obsessed! Vintage band t-shirts made into perfectly cut-out deep-v, Brazilian one pieces. My dream suit that I never knew existed! Ideal for any summer time beach bash, and the only item you really need to take with you to a music fest. Continue reading…

Love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.

Lace flares? Check. Flower crown? Check. Boho jacket for cool nights? Check. Nothing screams Cali like these three staples. My newest love is this awesome Mexican denim jacket from Vintage Urban Renewal. Easy over pants, shorts, tanks, crop tees. The ultimate Coachella jacket! If you’ve missed my other posts featuring rad threads from Vintage Urban Renewal, you can check em out here and here. Can you tell I love this company?!?Continue reading…

When boho gets a steampunk makeover.

in-her-drawer-boho-steampunk-tophat DSC_5080

Honestly, I think this whole steampunk idea started with a quest for a top hat. I’ve seen them pop up in some couture shoots and have been lusting over a vintage broken-in velvet top hat that looks like it had could lived its life making music with Slash. Oh the stories that hat could tell. Since this icon of steampunk culture hasn’t quite made the mainstream market, it’s taken a little time to work one into my wardrobe. It’s really pretty awesome how things work out sometimes…shortly after I acquired said top hat, I had the pleasure of meeting up-and-coming Vegas jewelry desinger, Rachel Anderson. Rachel’s company, In Her Drawer, creates stunning boho jewels infused with just a little bit of steampunk. I knew her style would be perfect for this look!Continue reading…

Surfing the Crimson Wave

Mr. Hall: “Cher Horowitz–two tardies.”
Cher: “I object. Do you recall the dates of these alleged tardies?”
Mr. Hall: “One was last Monday.”
Cher: “Mr. Hall, I was surfing the crimson wave. I had to haul ass to the ladies.”

ubykotexstars-kotex-crimson-wave

Well put, Cher! There’s something about using excuses of “it’s that time of the month” that men will never question or care to know details. Everything from the pain pills to the chocolate cravings is just TMI. And accidentally dropping a tampon from your purse in plain view of the opposite sex? You might as well have read the first few pages of your diary out loud. What’s up with the crazy stigma that we can’t openly talk about our monthly ovulation cycle? Photo source.Continue reading…

Ginny Gin Gin

My current libation of choice.

SAMSUNG CSC

There’s nothing like pouring a delicious cocktail at the end of the day and sitting down to create some late night music. I’ve been a gin drinker for a while now and have recently developed a taste for bourbon and scotch. Maybe it’s all the bourbon barrel craft beers that Justin and I go through in our house, or the late night hangs after shows with my band mates and sipping on scotch til we close down the bar. The perfect pairing of my two liquor loves comes in a form called Ransom Old Tom Gin. Literally gin aged in bourbon barrels. When I’m on tour, the hotel we always stay at keeps this bottle in stock for me…no joke! Bragging rights for rock star status? Or just more incentive from the bar for me to spend all of my per diem? I’d like to think it’s the first assumption:)Continue reading…
