Summer tunic love

ruby-ribbon-boho-tunic-beach-dana-point 7

Tunics…I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to these oversize part shirt/part dress bohemian staples that seem to be taking over my closet. Super easy to throw on with some boots or sandals in the summer or leggings and thigh highs in the fall. Something about the loose fit, high hemline and carefree structure about tunics will forever make them a favorite part of my wardrobe. And what’s more perfect for summer than a bright sun kissed lace and cotton boho tunic?Continue reading…

Cocunut tofu & kelp noodle stir fry

Being vegan, naturally I’m a health food junkie. With my love for bohemian fashion it may seem like most of my income is spent on clothes but in reality I go all out on organic, vegan super foods. And what’s better than your favorite delicious vegan cooking staples and goodies delivered right to your door? Any time I can cut out driving time in Los Angeles is key, so when I discovered Truly Organic, an online vegan and raw superfood store, I was ecstatic. My first package consisted of black bean noodles, coconut marinade, kelp noodles, salted caramel walnuts, and an Art of Raw coco & lemon meal bar.Continue reading…

Weekend at Dana Point

SAMSUNG CSC

It’s always a whirlwind the week before I go back on tour, but I’m so thankful I got to squeeze in a little beach time in Dana Point before heading back to Vegas. Home of the annual Doheny Blues Festival, we got to spend the afternoon listening to blues legend Buddy Guy and Gregg Allman literally 100 yards from the picturesque California shoreline. Just coming back from Jazz Fest in New Orleans, honestly I was a little spoiled from the size of that production, but I definitely still really Dana Point’s version that’s been going strong for the past 17 years!Continue reading…

Boot rugs & rompers.

I’ve been crushing on these boot rugs for a while. Cindy Johnson, the owner of Blue Jeans and Roses, has created a hot new trend in footwear accessories. Completely handmade and customizable, these crochet rugs slip over any size cowboy boot. If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a boot hoarder. Spilling out of both closets, my boot collection has reached an all time high. With no intention of backing down, my new boot rugs have given me an excuse to shop for even more cowboy boots.Continue reading…

A pioneer in the puppyverse

The days of scaring the post master away are over. Our little white nugget, Bowie, can smell her PupBox from a mile away. A connoisseur of specialized doggie treats and toys, Bowie knows a well-crafted chew toy or the perfect organic chicken treat at first sniff. Our leggy white stallion will give you the run-down of her first PupBox.Continue reading…

She’s tryin’ to make a devil out of me.

It was my first trip to NOLA last weekend and I’m already trying to figure out when I can get back. That city has such an abundance of culture and history. I knew that before I left, but there’s just something in the air when you walk through the French Quarter. The uneven brick, rod iron porches, street musicians, boutiques I could spend hours in, the tarot card readers…every square inch of that city has a story to tell. My first walk down Bourbon Street was at 2:30 am on a Thursday night, and after a long talk with a bartender I came to the conclusion that Bourbon Street is a mix of Amsterdam’s red light district and Vegas stuffed into a very small alley. With way more drunk people. I mean completely toasted out of their mind.Continue reading…

Gettin down in the Big Easy

Knowing little about Jazz Fest and New Orleans in general, Justin and I booked our plane tickets on a whim when Phish announced they would be headlining the first weekend of jazz fest. After a whirlwind weekend of music, mint juleps, and festival fare I’m ready to book my trip for next year. And I thought Vegas was the party town…boy did I get that wrong. On our first walk down Bourbon Street at 2 am, every third person could barely put one foot in front of the other.Continue reading…

Shortcake anyone?

tapia-strawberry-farms-gypsy-junkies-free-people DSC_6917

It couldn’t be more fitting…on Earth Day last Monday, Justin and I visited a farmer’s market we’ve never been to, ate fresh picked strawberries from their field and hand-picked our own lettuce straight from the earth. Tapia Bros. Farm is literally just around the corner from us in Encino and I’m kicking myself for waiting this long to visit. I can honestly say I’ve never had better strawberries or salad made with their romaine.  It was pretty hard trying not to eat half of the bucket of berries while doing this shoot!Continue reading…

Daisies before dusk

Planning my poolside festival wear for Coachella last weekend, I paired these two awesome pieces from American Apparel. Not normally my first place to shop when searching for new boho threads, I was definitely surprised to find this rad combo that works day to night. I’m obsessed with onesies right now, and this little daisy piece is definitely going to get some wear at jazz fest this weekend in New Orleans! Continue reading…
