Bohemian Thunderbird

It’s been a whirlwind of a week! I just got back from Canada after performing two incredible sold out shows with Shania Twain! Now two more weeks of shows in Las Vegas before I return home to Los Angeles. Visiting Canada during the Calgary Stampede was an awesome experience. I was totally inspired to create a little iPad doodle from the Indian Village set up in the stampede fair grounds. There were at least a dozen large teepees, each representing different Canadian tribes with authentic clothing, instruments and tools displayed in each. The photos turned out incredible and I can’t wait to share! In the meantime, here’s a little something that’s been stirring up in my head from my travels this week. Nothing says ‘Merica like stars, stripes & Lynyrd Skynyrd

I grew up listening to all sorts of classic rock, whether I liked it or not. Until high school I always thought classic rock was what parents listened to when they wanted to embarrass their kids. Case in point my step dad would pick me up from school in the 5th grade in is El Camino blaring “Sweet Home Alabama.” I was small enough that I was able to crawl under the glove compartment on the floor so that none of my friends would see me in the “car-truck” listening to old people’s jams. Now I would totally rock an El Camino with an iPod full of 70’s rock. I’m actually pretty bummed that the car-truck bit the dust in an accident during my middle school years.Continue reading…

My california summer wardrobe is primarily made up of breezy dresses and boots of all colors and styles. Anything that can drape off my shoulders or fall loosely to my knees are my favorite summer staples. I’ve been wearing lots of lace camis and bralettes recently so whenever a dress lends itself to pretty, feminine, meant-to-be-seen undergarments, I’m all over it. For Love and Lemons Red Precioso

This dress. I’ve been hunting this dress down since February when For Love and Lemons released this ethereal beauty on their Instagram. My boyfriend was on a mission to find this for me for Valentine’s day, then my birthday, then Easter, and finally we were able to snatch one up just in time for summer solstice. The day it came in the mail I honestly didn’t believe I actually owned it! There’s something about anything off the shoulder that I’m just obsessed with right now. Vegan chocolate heaven!

Dark chocolate and coconut…two of my favorite things. I always love trying new homemade vegan chocolate treats that are made local from Whole Foods or picking out the best new vegan dark chocolate bars with the highest concentration of cacao. A good friend of mine and celebrity chef stopped by my place last week to show me how to make the most devine little dark chocolate morsels. Pack your bags for summer tour with Jam Panties.

Phish summer tour has dictated our summer vacations for the past three years. Our Phishcations have take us to the Gorge in Washington a few times, San Francisco, New York and of course our backyard at the Hollywood Bowl. There’s something about rockin your finest boho threads with a red plastic cup full of rum in hand, stumbling from “The Lot” into the venue to grab a prime spot on the lawn with your 20 other Phish fanatic friends. That to me means summer. Phish summer tour officially starts on July 1st this year and it’s prime time to get your booty in gear with panties that will make you wanna rage all night.

Portable bohemian fashion

I’m a flea market junkie. ‘Sunday Funday’ has true meaning to me and my friends…the best type of Sunday is early morning at the flea market, lunch, a few cocktails, and an afternoon of listening to records and playing music. When I’m not on tour, Justin and I are regulars at the Melrose and Fairfax trading post in West Hollywood. For the past six years I’ve been collecting vintage wears and handmade furniture from this market. Most of our home is currently decorated with furniture from the market…both refurbished and handmade. In the past few years, the flea market booths have really stepped up their game and most displays are smaller versions of the cutest boutiques on Abbot Kinney. One of the newest additions to the market, Looksy, takes the cake for best eye candy!Continue reading…

Mellow Yellow Maxi

Yellow has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a room with yellow daffodils on the wall and yellow forsythia outside of my window. When it comes to fashion though, yellow is a tricky color to wear. In general when I have my mind set on something I do it all the way so I decided to take a leap of faith and go for a floor length 1970’s bohemian maxi with not one single thread that is not dyed a brilliant shade of yellow. Summer sands and bold bikinis

Living on the west coast, you’d think I’d be a regular beach bunnie. LA traffic keeps me from spontaneous trips to shore but when you’ve got some swimwear as hot as this you know I’m gonna be carving out some time for a little surf and sand this summer. Ao de clo is a resort and swim wear company based out of San Juan that I’m currently loving. All fabrics are custom made colors and prints and are designed by the gorgeous Claudia Alexandra, a Puerto Rican native, who knows exactly how to make a bikini that you won’t want to take off.Continue reading…
