Everlasting Light

Love is the coal that makes this train roll.

Falling for fairy-like chiffon

My sandals are slowly being packed away as the end of September rolls around and my collection of boots and booties are now the center of attention. I’m pairing them with everything from shorts and flannels to gorgeous fall transition pieces like this amazingly versatile chiffon maxi from Naveda Couture. There are many days that I work from home that I wear the same thing I wore to bed until 4 pm the next day when I’m forced to make a run to the grocery store. The yoga pants and oversize t-shirt that I normally work in are far from motivational. Indigo tie dye. You’ve seen it on dresses, home decor, macrame, just about anything that can be dipped I’ve seen turned into beautiful bohemian pieces of art. This past spring (yes it’s taken me a solid 6 months to get these photos up on the blog) I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Japanese Shirbori dyeing worksop by the indigo expert, Juniper & Fir. I love getting messy (my boyfriend can attest to the piles of watercolor palettes and paints lying around the house) and any type of artistic event that can inspire me to keep creating, I’m always down. I dream of gardens in the desert sand.

There’s nothing like a warm California desert cooling off at dusk. The moss covered rocks, cactus gardens, and the ever expansive horizon that frames the most perfect sunset. Of all of the outdoor locations in California I thought I would spend the most time at when I moved here, I thought for sure it would be the beach. Quite the opposite, the desert won my heart.
