Shorts and boots for fall in Los Angeles
A few weeks back I visited the newly opened Free People store in Sherman Oaks to celebrate their grand opening…dangerously close to my house! I picked up these awesome smocked shorts that are such and perfect addition to my fall wardrobe in LA since the days are still hot but the nights get cool. I can’t really take credit for this…my boyfriend, who has a surprisingly good eye for fashion, pulled these off the rack and insisted these be the first thing I try on. He was absolutely right. I love how dressy or casual they can be and how unique and flattering they are. These bohemian shorts could have lived in the hills of Laurel Canyon in 1969.
I love the delicate trim around the edge. And high socks with shorts…I literally can’t get enough this season. I’ve already done three posts with different thigh highs. You bet they’ll be more.
So these boots are a hand-me-down from my mom. She bought them maybe 10 years back from a cute boutique in central Ohio we used to frequent when I was in college. Lucky for me she graciously gifted them to me…however, we’ll see how long that lasts after she reads this post;) Love you mom!
Another mother daughter hand-me-down…a vintage necklace. Not quite sure the history but right now it’s been getting a lot of wear this season!

obsessed with this outfit! i have similar shorts, and i never thought to pair them with a chunky sweater. i’m also always dying to try knee highs, but i can never seem to figure out the right way to wear them. you nailed it here!
