Enter the world of design goddess, Pachamama Bohemian.

Photographer

I can’t begin to explain how lucky I am to have built up wonderful friendships over the course of my two years of blogging! Not knowing exactly what I was getting into, I would seek out companies with a similar small start-up fan base that encompassed the same lifestyle and designs that I would only dream of owning. Pachamama Bohemian and I were completely drawn to each other. It was the start of an amazing collaboration that I’m sure has many more years to come! On a recent visit to Florida I had them amazing opportunity of finally getting to met in person the creative genius behind Pachamama Bohemian. Val dreams up insanely gorgeous and authentic bohemian dresses, purses, shawls kimonos, and jewels that have a true global feel but made to fit comfortably into anyone’s wardrobe. I couldn’t speak more highly of her designs and sense of style!Continue reading…

Boho hair and summer glow with Eco Tools.

eco-tools-beauty-blogger-boho-summer-glow-hair-brushes-makeup 26

Living in the San Fernando Valley in the summer is like unwillingly stepping into my Bikram Yoga studio on any given day. Sweating is inevitable and at this time in the year all my hair and makeup routines always need to be adjusted. A glistening face isn’t always necessarily bad…that fresh off the beaches in Malibu look is always a good thing and taking advantage of your natural glow is that way to go during the summer. Adding a bronzed look to your makeup routine with Eco Tools and a little extra boho twist to your hair will keep your summer glow in check.Continue reading…

Barefoot gypsy giveaway

pachamama-bohemian-harmen-pants-barefoot-sandals-boho-bunnie DSC_6406

This oasis in the middle of the desert was the perfect ending to our Coachella weekend. Car loaded and ready to make the trip back to LA, Justin and I discovered this bohemian haven within Palm Springs. Perfect for barefoot sandals in the sand, bright harem pants, headbands and gypsy jewels. What made this mystical canyon even more special is that we share the same name…Andreas Canyon! If I could only spend my afternoons here with rum cocktails swinging in a large rope hammock. You can recreate your own island oasis with a $50 giveaway to Hippies Hope Shop at the bottom of this post!Continue reading…

Cowgirl in the Surf

Beach & Boots

I don’t surf, but if I did cowboy boots would still be appropriate. There’s probably not a day that goes by that I’m not in a pair of shit kickers. And on the beach, why not, just make em silver. Planet Cowboy makes the spaciest, raddest boots around and these will be the second pair that will be joining me on stage this summer. Until then, I’ll be keepin it cheeky with a stonewashed denim hand-painted Frida jacket from Pachamama Bohemian.

Do you love me, do you, surfer girl?

May the four winds blow you safely home

I miss these sunsets. Five beautiful nights in Santorini watching the sun reach beneath the sea from a villa at the top of the highest point of the island. Greece is exactly how I envisioned it, cascading white buildings streaming down the cliffs, and sunsets that warm your insides like you’ve just had the most delicious glass of wine. Admittedly I was especially looking forward to the hummus, I was in the motherland and I wouldn’t expect anything less. But apart from my favorite snack of little smashed beans, I ate the most delicious vegetarian dishes of my life! Avocado, beans, spinach, fancy mushrooms (not THAT kinda fancy, but the ouzo got us close) anything my little veggie heart desired. Out of the dozens of countries I have traveled to in the past year, Greece takes the prize for food. But enough about stuffing my face with grape leaves and falafel, this is a ‘fashion blog.’ And nothing complements the white scapes of Greece like the bold colors of Pachamama Bohemian, Ouroboros Designs and L di R.

Leather, turquoise macrame. This statement piece from Ouroboros Designs is unreal.

Like pieces of art for your feet! Obsessed with these moccasins form L di R.

The fit on this jacket is perfection! And has just about every one of my favorite colors.

Play With Fire

May 13, 2017

Well, you’ve got your diamonds and you’ve got your pretty clothes

As a musician I have my fair share of black clothing. So much black that I have a bin the the garage labeled “black overflow.” I have no idea what kind of ‘overflow’ I’ve stowed away, but certainly not important enough to have even opened the ten gallon plastic bin I filled over three years ago. Honestly, sometimes it’s fun to set it and forget it, and later revisit the forgotten garments of years past. It’s like going vintage shopping in my garage! Back to black…it’s only been recently that I’ve been getting into bold reds (starting with the dramatic color change in my hair last fall) and mixing fire tones with basic black has been one of my favorite color combos recently. This Pachamama Bohemian jacket is anything BUT basic, however, just using three colors this is one of my favorite boldest pieces I own. And it makes it all the more special that it was gifted to me for my birthday this year by the designer herself when she came to a show of mine in Florida this April. I love you Val!

Bold reds amongst the desert tones at Pappy and Harriet’s.

My favorite little bandana I got in Tokyo last March.

Ramble On Rose

Ramble on baby, settle down easy…

Dirt roads, dustings of pink, greens, sun-faded blues and yellows make the desert a sight for sore eyes. If I’m jumping in my car, driving due east of Los Angeles is my favorite direction to head. The solace of desert life is something I always dreamed of as a midwestern kid, and beginning only just a year ago with my first trip to Joshua Tree, the desert has never let me down. I can guarantee I’ll own a second home there before the end of my thirties. Besides the artistic way of life that comes so easily in Joshua Tree, there is so much inspiration in the desert. The vegetation, wildlife, the night sky, the mom and pop shops that will always be ahead of the trend, and the locals. It’s the outlaw way of life that has become so desired by the creative types like myself. Desert outfitters such as Pachamama Bohemian and The Champagne Gypsy will forever fill my wild west inspired closet.

Mellow Yellow

March 6, 2017

I’m just mad about Saffron, Saffron’s mad about me.

novella-royale-johsua-tree-pachamama-bohemian-playboy-vintage-crop-flares 25

Yellows, burnt umber and brick reds. A palette fit for 1969. This little tie-up shirt from Pachamama Bohemian and dreamy yellow floral crops from Novella Royale are gonna be my spring staples. Cozy enough for lounging and groovy enough for a night out. Yellow actually happens to be my favorite color, it’s just so tricky to wear. The subtle shades of yellow and what my teenage self would call ‘puke green’ have become a favorite combination of mine. This billowy, gauzy yet oh so feminine blouse is my favorite compliment to skin tight flares. Tied up or loose and breezy, it’s so versatile and so easy.

I’ve been gravitating towards textures and blues recently. Maybe it’s because of the red hair. Keeping monotone shades but making it tactile has been go to look. Velvet, faux suede, and elaborate beading make this ensemble one of my everyday favorites. Any easy way to make a summer outfit a west coast winter outfit…add a trench and thigh high boots. I actually do keep my shorts in rotation all year long for those winter days when pants just aren’t cutting it. Adorned with some pretty little lovelies from Flea Market Girl and the most amazing beaded saddle bag from Pachamama Bohemian, scroll down for some west coast winter street style inspiration.Continue reading…

Burnin’ Sky

The sky is burnin’ I believe my soul’s on fire.

pachamama-bohemian-overtone-bohobunnie-smoke-bomb-fashion-blogger-vegas-poncho-shawl-indian-9

The best moments are always the unplanned ones. From lounging over a glass of wine in pj’s to running out to the middle of the desert with nothing but boots and a shawl to catch the last 15 minutes of light, Ashley and I created one of my favorite desert shoots featuring Pachamama Bohemian. Something about letting things happen organically and not giving time constraints or even expections to a situation makes the process so beautifully raw and natural. A few bottles of wine, a couple smoke bombs and the Las Vegas desert was more than enough inspriation for making magic at dusk.Continue reading…

Maui Sunsets

pachamama-bohemian-crochet-one-piece-swim-suit-maui-beach-pineapple-fashion-blogger- 8

It’s been about a month since my trip to Maui and I’m finally getting a chance to share the second round of photos by local photographer Danielle Nowicki. Forgetting that not every place is sunny without at a chance of rain like 99% of the time in LA, I completely lucked out with the Hawaiian weather for this shoot. Since Hawaiian rains that just come and go at the drop of a hat, I couldn’t have imagined a better evening for a Maui sunset on Po’Olenalena Beach. A low tide with knee high waves and a partly cloudy sky that the sun just peaked through. Just enough light to catch the sparkle of the golden threads in this Pachamama Bohemian crochet one piece. And the Mai Tais? I definitely had my fair share over the course of the five days, answering most of my emails under the influence, but hey, when in Maui…Continue reading…
