One part nerdy, one part boho.
I’ve wanted glasses all my life…I remember growing up being so jealous of my brother when he would come home with a brand new pair of Versace frames. The optometrist would always say “well, Andrea, there’s a large collection of sunglasses you can pick from.” Not the same. I wanted the thick rimmed, sexy-dorky glasses that would make any outfit look nerdier, and well…cooler! I don’t know why I didn’t invest in a pair of faux specs sooner because this week I found the perfect frames. And what better to pair with my new sultry librarian rims? This awesome high-waist vintage skirt I found from an online vintage shop called Brag Vintage. To keep with the vintage theme, I made sure all items in this look came from my closet or items in storage, which basically acts as my personal vintage shop in the garage.
I’m all about building my skirt collection for the fall…maxis, minis, in betweenies, and the skirt collection at Brag Vintage really caught my eye. They have a HUGE selection and it’s insanely well organized! On each and every one of their THOUSANDS of items there are about 5 different angles of the item so you know exactly what you’re ordering. Also check out the jackets…tons of fall tweeds!
You can sort by color, size and specific article of clothing. It’s so fun and easy…like going to a vintage shop but the clerk pulls every item for you that they think you would like in your size. Bam! No tiresome hours of sifting through racks of clothes and coming home smelling like your grandparents’ attic. AND they have new items everyday!
It’s definitely nowhere near fall here in LA, but I’m itching to wear some fall threads. A pair of thigh-highs paired with my favorite (and Justin’s favorite) Jeffrey Campbell stacked t-straps make a great summer to fall transition.
We did this shoot in the evening after a Beauty Con event. (If you didn’t make it this year, you MUST go next year). I’ve gotta give a shout out to the awesome girls who did some of my styling…Kelly Baker Brows did a killer job with my eyebrows and Alena of the Joico team showed me how to add this nifty little braid crown! Love it!
Bowie loves to interrupt photo shoots. But we can never say no to that sweet face:)
So besides this insanely awesome vintage skirt and nerd frames that I FINALLY own, my jewelry is vintage passed down to me from my grandmother. The coin bracelet has such an awesome story…my grandfather gathered coins in Europe when he was serving in WWII and made them into a bracelet for my grandmother! Such a special piece.
