Midwestern Love

The heart of it all.

First off, I would like to give mad props to all you fashion bloggers who blog year round in any location that reaches below forty degrees as a high. For our two week trip back to Ohio, I packed a handful of outfits for photo shoots. There are so many run down barns, sheds, fields and farms that are perfect shooting locations so I was excited to get some midwestern variety on the blog. Our first photo shoot in 29 degrees was quickly titled as our last winter Ohio photo shoot as well. Justin was shivering so much it was hard to keep the camera steady and I couldn’t feel my fingers in a matter of five minutes. But for the love of fashion we trudged through. I was determined to showcase these gorgeous handmade knit pieces by Made With Love by J Dove. This young college student is so extremely talented with her knit creations! This cardigan, boot toppers and headband are all a part of her super affordable and absolutely stunning collection.

These little boot toppers dip just below the top of your boots so you can create layers without doubling up on heavy duty socks. Oversize everyday fringe purse? I can never have too much fringe!

A favorite jewelry designer of mine, Amy Friend does it again. Such a simple piece but a perfect statement that goes with literally anything.

An easy go-to black layering dress from Choies is a perfect length for boots and knee high socks.

Who’s stocking up on hand pieces? In LOVE with Free People’s hand chain collection!

Made from the softest yarn, J Dove’s pieces are so ultra cozy and warm! I love the cable knit design in the front and how it’s plenty wide to keep ears warm in Ohio winters.

Great look! Love the knitted wear that you’re featuring! I feel the same way! I hate taking photos for the blog during wintery temps. I try and shoot cold weather looks when it’s warmer so I can skip out on cold days! 😉 but don’t tell my other readers!

You are so photogenic!!! It gets rather cold around here, but we try to plan our shoots for days that it’s a tad warmer!

I LOVE THE COWBOY BOOTS! So timeless, so classic.

Too many boho outfits just revolve around the short ankle boot (think Free People catalog) and that’s beyond, beyond, beyond overdone.

Thanks for giving the look a fresh, cool twist here.

    Loving these shots!
And yes- I’m from Kansas City (where it’s like 19 degrees right now, send hellllllp!) and it can be a nightmare shooting in the cold (and not looking like you want to die). Ha!

Haha. I know the pain of cold fashion blogging well. I shoot all my shots with a tripod and self timer and I continued doing it in the -25 degrees celsius Winter we had here. Not fun, but I did it.
