Mala beads and accessories for the bohemian girl by Tiny Devotions.

TinyDevotionsGirls

Living a free spirited lifestyle, living your dreams and looking good as you do it is what Tiny Devotions is all about. They make gorgeous mala beads and accessories that represent your intentions, whether it’s for a short term or long term goal. These creative and inspiring team of girls  who run Tiny Devotions like to switch their malas from day to day or week to week. “Our Mala beads are so beautiful and different that it would be hard to chose one mala to wear consistently! The boho gals on our team switch it up often, and wear the mala that represents their intention for the week or day. Today some of us are rocking the Full Bloom Mala for opening one’s heart and the Lumination Mala for setting dreams on fire.”

Not only do these gorgeous girls create a bohemian girl’s go-to accessory, they run a blog where  boho beauties, cut off wearers, blogger rockstars and dreamers unite. Boho Daily shows their love for their community through fashions they heart, inspiring people, food they love and Tiny Devotions giveaways. They put it best: “We are the girls that wear fringe, boots, and headscarves. We walk barefoot, we love wholly and we dream big.”

I love not only the amazing accessories they sell but also how awesome these girls are. If we lived in the same city they would probably be some of my best friends…they seem so grounded and free-spirited at the same time. “At Tiny Devotions we love to use many different meaningful mantras for different reasons and seasons. For example we might use a simple mantra like, ‘I am strong’ if we’re going through times of challenge. Or perhaps something more specific like, ‘I bow to the light within myself’, if we are practicing self love.” Check em out, I’m sure you’ll fall in love too:)

@Bohobunnie

It’s been a while since I introduced myself. Hi! It’s been a while since I introduced myself. Hi! I’m Andrea Whitt, musician, artist, stylist and model.
I get asked often about my pedal steel playing and thought I’d share a little of my musical journey.

My first instrument was guitar when I was 8. I was given an acoustic guitar for Christmas and by April I had taught myself a handful of songs that I had my friends sing along with me at my 9th birthday. That year I started playing viola, and went on to get my masters degree at University of Cincinnati CCM in viola performance. I was getting so tired of playing the same classical rep that I joined the jazz department.
I moved to LA after college, and as a surprise to myself was able to support myself doing music full time. Except a gig as a spray tan artist, but that’s another story 🤣 A huge part of my musical career has been teaching private lessons, group classes and conducting youth orchestras.

I played in rock bands, orchestras, did sessions, random gigs (many shitty ones) until I landed the gig with Shania Twain. I was hired as a violist and fiddle player. I purchased my first violin for this gig and went to local bluegrass jams to learn fiddle styles, definitely fell on my face every time. It was when I was in Shania’s band that I saw a pedal steel for the first time. I was obsessed. I immediately ordered one off of eBay and had it sent to my hotel room in Vegas. Being a Grateful Dead fan I decided the priority was to learn all of the iconic Jerry Garcia pedal steel solos. Note for note, I taught myself steel with all of Jerry’s signature licks.

Shortly after the Shania gig, I got hired to play in Zucchero’s band. A three year world tour to 48 countries. Even though I had only been playing steel for 3 years I got to perform on steel on a handful of songs every show. When you’re sitting at a new instrument in front of 20,000 people you learn fast!

Now pedal steel is just as much a part of my career as viola and fiddle. Thank you for supporting my journey, many of you have been following since my first steel post. I have lots of new announcements coming soon, thanks for joining me on this long strange trip!
