I wish they all could be California

Moving to LA I had this grand image that I would spend the weekends on the beach, catching rays through the month of November. Then work and a small detail called LA traffic got in the way. Living in our little bubble of Sherman Oaks, a beach trip these days is now pretty special, and happens just about as much as it did while I was living in the midwest. It’s not that I don’t love the ocean, believe me I’ve decorated my entire Malibu mansion in my head. It’s just an all day event that gets pushed aside for special occasions. Wanting to rock this amazing Boys and Arrows bikini from Swim Outlet was definitely worthy of the trip to the magical moss covered cliffs of Malibu.

In college, wearing a cheeky bikini bottom or anything that didn’t cover your booty like grandma panties on the beach was completely unheard of. This little number has the perfect seams to hug all the right curves, show some skin and keep you covered. I can’t imagine going back to those full coverage bottoms ever.

These headbands are totally amazing! Hand wrapped clothing, braided with hemp and decorated with little tassels at the ends. They can be layered on your head or draped around your waist.

Perfect beach jewels pairings: Boho Global, Moost Wanted and rings by Flea Market Girl.

Anklets are a beach must have. These pieces are great for the sand and the water.

I’m in LOVE with this bikini top! The right amount of coverage with some sexy details.

Transitioning to evening off the beach, wrapping a silk scarf from Johnny Was and pairing with a maxi skirt or palazzo pants is the way to go. These oversized scarves literally have hundreds of different ways to tie them. I love the front cross-over, it keeps you beach sexy after you leave the sand. Find the full collection of printed silk scarves at JohnnyWas.com.

Thousands and thousands of suits and beachwear to choose from, Swim Outlet is the mecca for everything summer. All my favorite boho bikini brands, rad surf wear and even tons of men’s trunks to choose from (I picked out a couple for Justin).

The neons with the neutrals are great for pairing with bright summer colors.

Hi! I too enjoyed the images and live in LA. I have lived in Sherman Oaks before and looking to connect with like-minded individuals. Specifically with the bohemian type of style. Nice read, Vanessa
