Spotlight on blogger Miche Renee

Buttons-Birdcages-5

I’m so excited to introduce Miche Renee, creator of Buttons and Birdcages. Not only do we share a passion for boho clothing and finding killer vintage threads, but she lives in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio! Miche has one up on me though…she’ll take one of her stellar vintage finds and and tailor it herself to create an awesome wardrobe staple. If only I had the time and patience to do that! Here’s the scoop on this super stylish midwestern chick who leaves you with a feel-good heartfelt story every time you visit her blog. Love what you see in her photos? You can purchase items she wears in her photo shoots right from her blog!

Boho Bunnie: You have a knack for picking up awesome vintage threads. Where are your favorite places to shop?

Miche: I love rummaging through the racks at vintage shops but actually some of my best finds have been from regular thrift shops like Goodwill. Online shops through artsy and ASOS fashion finder can also be really good for finding affordable vintage pieces.

Boho Bunnie: What are your favorite vintage pieces to find?

Miche: Dresses. I adore dresses, not just because they’re feminine and comfortable, but because they have endless possibilities when it comes to remixing and styling them. Want to wear it as a top? Put a skirt over the bottom part. As a skirt? Throw an oversized top over it for an edgy look.

Boho Bunnie: How would you describe your style?

Miche: Oh man, the big question. I don’t know that one word can really encompass my style other than eclectic? im definitely drawn to vintage and boho and even a little grunge here and there.

Boho Bunnie: Who are your style icons?

Miche: Audrey Hepburn for sure – her style was so classic and elegant. Plus, she was an incrediblely generous and loving person, definitely one of my style and life icons.

Boho Bunnie: What is your most treasured fashion piece?

Miche: Definitely this leopard print silk scarf my grandmother gave me a few years back.

Boho Bunnie: What is your best beauty secret?

Miche: Red lipstick. I could be having a terrible day, not an ounce of makeup on but if I put on red lipstick I instantly feel transformed and confident. Red is bold and fun, and I’m a firm believer that every woman can totally rock it 🙂

Boho Bunnie: What’s on your bucket list?

Miche: Oh man, SO many things. Right now I think the one I’m most focused on is traveling to each of the seven continents. Right now, I’ve hit North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

Boho Bunnie: I love your “Good News of the Day” section! What inspired you to come up with the idea of sharing these heartfelt stories?

Miche: I was driving to work one morning and just heard terrible stories back to back, not a good way to start the day, right? As soon as I got to my desk I started researching good new stories and found tons! Reading them definitely brightened my day so I figured I might as well share the joy.

Buttons-Birdcages-4Go ahead and stalk this world-traveling, red lipstick wearing, boho vintage queen. Besides her awesome sense of style, her blog will totally cheer you up and give you something to look forward to reading everyday!
