Kimonos & Cowboy Boots

December 23, 2019

Summer kimonos all winter long

I’ve always been obsessed with Japanese fashion. I dream about revisiting Ginza in Tokyo with an unlimited budget at Dover Street Market. Most of my kimonos I’ve collected from the road come from vintage shops in Copenhagen, Scottland and Berlin and I had yet to own a tradition garment straight from the motherland until this Yukata (a traditional summer kimono) from Tokyo. Fit for stage (it will make it’s debut here in a few months) or just roaming around Las Vegas, my kimonos will forever be paired with cowboy boots, hats and pink ranch houses.

Velvet Dreams in Las Vegas

Vegas has long time been a second home for me of sorts. I’ve spent months in the city of sin on and off for over eight years and have performed at least 200 shows all along the strip. By no means will Vegas every win my heart over Los Angeles, but there is something always familiar and welcoming when I visit. Recently new friendships have made this destination feel even more like home. The Good Wolf LV is an incredible boutique owned by two amazing entrepreneurs who have become dear friends. Their style is impeccable and the store is beautifully curated with a collection of affordable clothing that makes my own closet jealous. What’s even better is that worlds have collided and another dear friend of mine, Boho Lizzy, is a featured jewelry artist at The Good Wolf LV. Everything from this shoot can be found locally in Vegas!

Summer in the City

August 4, 2019

And babe, don’t you know it’s a pity
That the days can’t be like the nights

It started off like any other hot summer day as a tourist in NYC. A $100 Uber to relocate luggage, and a sweaty subway ride into Time Square. Except today was the first day off of the Dead and Company tour. Still high from tour mode, Katie Skene and I donned head to toe tinsel and sequins to shoot some band photos with Ashley Myers in the most obvious place in the city. Needing a little relief from our heat generating space apparel and the cat calls, we jumped in a cab to our next destination. Never quite knowing where the days take us, but somehow always taking a gamble in the right direction, we started the evening off right at my absolute most favorite boot store of all time, Space Cowboy NYC. Six bottles of Rosé later, a new maroon hat and a laundry list of boots I will someday own, we ventured out into the city that literally never closes until we saw Ashley off to her 8 am flight. Thank you Gabe for hosting an unforgettable night and Tia for styling and housing three crazy ladies in your NYC flat. We love you!

Tangerine Dream

February 22, 2019

Living reflection from a dream.

We woke up early on a Monday morning in February, sipping on coffee just to stay warm in my heatless Los Angeles house. Running through saved inspirational images in our phones, Ashley and I decided to curate a shoot around the tangerine tree in the backyard. Thankful for the rain that added a little moss to our normal dustbowl of a lawn, we took advantage of the rare sunny moment we had in our gloomy month of February.

Arena di Verona

December 6, 2018

Verona, Italy

It’s hard to believe a structure 2000 years old can feel like home. Over the course of 2016-2017 I had the honor to perform 22 sold out shows with Zucchero Fornaciari. Rain or shine (mostly rain!) the Italian city of love brought in thousands and thousands of fans from around the world to this very special venue. Walking into this ancient cavernous structure for the first time was pretty damn intimidating, but soon standing side stage warming up instruments to a crowd of 15,000 felt just at home. Post soundcheck, Italian photographer, Stefania Marchi, captured me at the arena wearing my own designs, Bohemian Bunnie.

Tangled Up in Tulle

Chalcedony Novu in Roma, Italia

Italy in March isn’t as glamorous as I thought. Expecting to run along the streets of Rome photographing my Italian adventures, I didn’t really plan for 50 degrees and rain. Our last morning in Rome, hoping to hit the streets in this stunning custom Chalcedony Novu dress, it was just too damn cold to step foot on the sidewalk wearing next to nothing. We kept it indoors and it quickly became one of my favorite shoots of the trip. Tulle and sequins instantly turn anything into princess mode and I definitely felt like royalty lounging in this old Roman flat. Between the breakfast prosecco, leftover risotto and Dolce and Gabana inspired poses, we made sure to keep as authentic Italian as possible.

Cliffside Daydreams

September 25, 2018

Ampelonas Santorini, Greece

As I’m posting this I honestly just had a daydream of using some of my airline miles to jump on a plane to Greece next week. No joke, this place is that magical. By far my favorite food of all my European travels and the VIEWS! I mean you just can’t get any better than a cliffside balcony watching the sunset night after night. It never gets old. I can taste the fresh dill salads, fava bean dishes and fresh Grecian avocados. I’ve heard Grecian people live the longest and lead the happiest lives; I totally understand the fountain of youth these islands generate. Wearing The Little Bazaar, Thea Cosmetics and Buckle, I could get used to island living in bandeau tops and sundresses.

A little watercolor sketch of our Santorini resort by yours truly is for sale in the shop!

May the Grecian Gods bless you with travels to the motherland! Happy travels, bunnies!

That’s Amore

August 6, 2018

Prosecco, pizza and pasta.

On any given day in Italy I’m consuming at least one out of the three main Italian food groups, most of the time all three. Like most Angelenos, carbohydrates are rarely part of my diet, and god forbid I have a loaf of bread in my house. But as soon as the plane touches down in the land of pizza pie, I’m gnawing down gnocchi with a side of focaccia. And vino….vino, vino, vino, vino. It’s 9 am right now in Los Angeles and just merely typing this I could easily be coerced out of my cozy air conditioned room to go for a veggie pizza and a bottle of primitivo. It’s been only one week home from tour in Europe and I’m already thinking about how I need to find my way back. Until then I’ll be dreaming of my next Italian meal in my Jennafer Grace kimono, Ouroboros Designs jewels and Yoga Outlet romper.

You’re in love.”

Cowgirl in the Surf

June 23, 2018

Beach & Boots

I don’t surf, but if I did cowboy boots would still be appropriate. There’s probably not a day that goes by that I’m not in a pair of shit kickers. And on the beach, why not, just make em silver. Planet Cowboy makes the spaciest, raddest boots around and these will be the second pair that will be joining me on stage this summer. Until then, I’ll be keepin it cheeky with a stonewashed denim hand-painted Frida jacket from Pachamama Bohemian.

Do you love me, do you, surfer girl?
