Trash & glam off the beaten path.

We left Las Vegas with a car packed full of half bottles of booze, partial Halloween costumes, granola bars and enough polaroid photos to cover our living room wall. We had given it our all for Phish Halloween weekend and it was the dreaded travel day back to reality. In and out of a few snoozes and back seat make-up application, I was able to muster up enough energy to sneak into an abandoned gas station with Justin to shoot these magical gypsy jewels from Lush Jewelry.

Vegas has been my second home for the past 2+ years. This past Halloween weekend I was actually there for a vacation and not work. Don’t get me wrong, my job is amazing and I actually consider it a work-cation, but there’s something to be said when your only obligation over a 3-day weekend is to make it to an 8 pm show to party your booty off. We snuck in a little extra time for a photo shoot right outside my favorite venue in Vegas…Brooklyn Bowl. Only fitting that I wore my Stevie Ray Vaughn hat and vintage Nirvana tee. Paired with hot bohemian rocker accessories, Chains By Lauren denim necklace, Pachamama Bohemian fringe clutch, & Fortress of Inca black booties.Continue reading…

Dust & Fringe

I’ve driven the route from LA to Las Vegas more times than I can remember. Sometimes it’s at 10 pm trying to beat the clock with a couple sugar-free Red Bulls. Other times it’s a nice escape to cruise through the desert lost in my thoughts while harmonizing to Stevie Nicks and The Wood Brothers. This trip in particular was one of the more exciting desert drives…three of us (including my bf and as you may know Boho Bunnie’s official photographer) left LA mid afternoon last Thursday ready to lose our minds over the course of three nights of Phish Halloween at the MGM. There’s nothing like a trip where the only thing that needs to happen on each day is to make it to an 8 pm show. More than ready for our Phish-cation, we planned a few extra stops along the way for some awesome desert shots. Kapri Couture and Illuminare Boutique were the headliners for this shoot and it’s as if both designer designed with each other in mind without even knowing it. This killer paisley print fringe kimono couldn’t be paired better with these gorgeous boho jewels.Continue reading…

Ponchos, Arrows & Feathers

Boho Bunnie

My favorite fall staples.

Boho Bunnie

I don’t know what’s easier than throwing on an oversize poncho over shorts and a tee for a fall night in LA. Boots paired with anything short is what you’ll see me wearing on any given day and when the nights start to get cooler, I love bundling up in anything oversize that still shows my legs. I started my collection of vintage ponchos a few years back when my mom gifted me a few of hers from the 70’s. They’re so much more fun to throw on over skinny jeans and heels or the shortest of daisy dukes. My new favorite cool weather staple comes from the rad online vintage store, Sadie Deluxe Vintage.Continue reading…

DIY Vintage Biker Tee

Harleys & Heatbreakers

Boho Bunnie

Meet Sean, our favorite stagehand at Caesar’s Palace in the Colosseum. He operates our mobilator every night that drives us on stage for the Shania Twain show. Over the past two years I’ve seen Sean wear about 50 different Harley Davidson tees with hot chicks and I’ve envied every single one. Brunettes, blondes, redheads, twins, he has ’em all. A few months back I cam across the perfect tee at the flea market to pay homage to my favorite biker style icon. With an entire entourage of amazingly talented wardrobe stylists for our show, there was no better place to learn how to create a perfect vintage tee.Continue reading…

Say You Love Me

When the lovin starts and the lights go down…

Boho BunnieIt’s been a lazy Sunday. One of those days where I don’t leave home, lounge in my favorite sweater and listen to Fleetwood Mac. Looking through these photos with my mom’s vintage leather vest from the 70’s makes me want to jump back in time to see a young Stevie Nicks twirl on stage singing Rhiannon. Lace flares, cropped florals and a wide brim hats lets me at least pretend I was a 70’s child. These simple jewels from Amy Friend add the perfect touch to this easy boho rocker look. Her designs have just the right balance of statement and classic. I absolutely love the delicate oxidized metals that she uses!

Red Rocks & Gypsy Musings.

I’m always amazed at what is beyond the strip in Las Vegas. When I perform for weeks at a time in this city of neons and sin I always forget that just outside the casino walls are majestic stretches of red rocks and joshua trees. If I lived here full time I would get lost in the peaks and valleys of this western wilderness. Looking at these photos just gives me more incentive to spend a month in a retro RV, making a photo journal of my western nomadic adventures.Continue reading…

Casey Jones you better watch your speed.

I totally feel like I just raided my mom’s closet in the 70’s. Oversized glasses and high waisted bells and skirts grace a majority of her photos from her twenties. So it’s only fitting that most of this ensemble is truly vintage. The most amazing cropped magenta sweater from Sadie Deluxe Vintage, vintage wooden bangles and one of my favorite scores from the Aspen Goodwill…a hand-beaded “St. John of Aspen” belt. High-waisted bells are getting more wear than anything else in my closet this season and I can’t think of a more perfect bag to rock with this outfit, a Wayuu Mochilla bag from The Buena Onda.Continue reading…

Pumpkin spiced flower power.

Nothing tastes more like fall than a pumpkin spice latte. Seriously. I used to live off of this decadent drink in college at 7 am before classes, after I finished my bartending shift at 4 am. Thankfully there’s no more bartending, but unthankfully no more pumpkin spice lattes. (Please start making vegan pumpkin spice, Starbucks!!) I’ve found my substitutions…bougie elixirs from Whole Foods or my new favorite Brazil nut-date-kale-spinach-romaine-sea salt-vanilla bean from Cold Pressed Juicery. My past midwest self would be making fun of my current LA self for my $10 self-indulgent, unnecessary but oh-so-amazing juice-gasms. But honestly nothing comes close to that spicy clove, nutmeg, cinnamon pumpkin coffee that reminds me of my favorite fall months in college. These amazing and absolutely adorable pumpkin spice colored boot skirts, crafted by the talented artist of Blue Jeans and Roses, pay homage to my forgotten flavors of autumn.
