Lost in Laurel Canyon
Laurel Canyon mysticism. Oh how I wish I could have lived in the canyons when my neighbors would have been Joni Mitchell, Jim Morrison, The Mamas & the Papas and Frank Zappa. Would I have been a groupie, part of the GTO’s? Or maybe a recording artist myself. Whenever I drive through Laurel Canyon I can’t help but daydream what it would have been like to be a 60’s canyon girl.
It’s only fitting that I incorporated some Los Angeles designers while recreating my vision of female rockstars of the canyon. Talina Hermann creates some incredibly sexy, sleek and simple silhouettes that can be dressed up or paired with the most distressed items you own. This vest is so fun to play around with. And taking the plunge with the For Love and Lemons “Love You Knot” bondage bralette makes the perfect complement to a structured top. Paired with boyfriend jeans…effortlessly sexy.
The perfect little complement to my 60’s canyon girl look is this delicate necklace from Christine Elizabeth Jewelry. Her collection is so simple and perfect to wear with absolutely anything. This little gem is my favorite of hers…the stars and the crescent moon are such a simple gypsy statement. If you’re looking for delicate layers, you’ve gotta check out her designs!
