The vegan version that’s better than the original
I know, I know, it’s almost summer and we’re all in the mood for tropical, effervescent, fruity cocktails, but sometimes in the warmest of months a sweet coffee dessert drink is what the evening calls for. Normally I steer clear of any cocktail made with milk or cream (for the obvious vegan reason) but I found the absolute best cream alternative for a white russian! Blue Print Juice makes a phenomenal cashew-vanilla-cinnamon-agave drink. I found this line at Whole Foods, but if you don’t have access to this amazing beverage, you can make your own nut milk with a recipe in one of my past posts, DIY Almond Milk.
An important tip for when you’re making ANY type of mixed drink is to always fill your glass with ice to the top, even a little over. The alcohol melts much more ice than you would expect.
So the ingredients are SUPER simple:
1 oz vodka
1 oz coffee-flavored liquor
4 oz Blue Print Cashew milk
Make sure you stir everything well…obviously add as much or as little cashew milk to your tasting. I could drink this stuff for days! And it’s WAY more healthy than any type of milk or cream. So sit back, turn on The Big Lebowski, and enjoy. Cheers!
