Harleys & Heatbreakers
Meet Sean, our favorite stagehand at Caesar’s Palace in the Colosseum. He operates our mobilator every night that drives us on stage for the Shania Twain show. Over the past two years I’ve seen Sean wear about 50 different Harley Davidson tees with hot chicks and I’ve envied every single one. Brunettes, blondes, redheads, twins, he has ’em all. A few months back I cam across the perfect tee at the flea market to pay homage to my favorite biker style icon. With an entire entourage of amazingly talented wardrobe stylists for our show, there was no better place to learn how to create a perfect vintage tee.
This must have been an XXL or XXXL tee when I found it on the rack. But with a logo like this there was no way I was passing this up. Nothing says “Full Moon Rider” like a pair of ass-less chaps.
All pinned up and ready to go…
Either style of fabric marker is great for marking. You can literally rub it off after you’ve made the cut.
This circular fabric cutter is a million times easier than cutting with scissors.
Start by cutting the bottom. Remember that fabric without a seam will curl slightly so aim a little longer than what you think.
Then the sleeves…
And finally the neck.
Try it on again for fit to double check the sides and how far they should come in.
This was literally the first time I’ve operated a sewing machine since Home Ec in the 7th grade. A few practice runs and I was back on the horse.
What’s awesome about this machine in particular is that it cuts the fabric and makes a seam for you at the same time. Brilliant!
Full Moon Rider in full glory!
A little pre-show photo shoot with the owner of the best vintage biker babe tee collection that I know.
Redheads are obviously my favorite:)
Thanks, Sean, for being my style inspiration, and of course of the fabulous ladies in wardrobe that helped me design and make my new favorite vintage tee!

Muscle tees are a staple in my closet, however I only have 3 that are on rotation because it’s been hard to find ones in my size. I love this DIY and for the inspiration to just tailor ones that are too big.
