Yoga at dusk.
I really can’t believe it’s been seven years almost to the day since my first yoga class. I was taken to my first Bikram class by a good friend of mine on Memorial Day in 2008. In an extremely crowded, sweaty and insanely hot room, I was in disbelief that all these yogis showed up multiple times a week to put themselves through this type of torture. And the same 26 postures? What was the point? Just three months later I was feeling a little out of shape and decided to go to the very class that would kick my ass the most. From that day forward, I was hooked. That moment you walk out of the studio with an extreme sense of self, eased mind and “yoga high,” you know every second of class was absolutely worth it. If life allowed it, I would go to yoga every day. When I can’t make it to the studio I try to keep my practice up at home.
